• Kuala Lumpur - The fully air-conditioned vehicles will be operated by English-speaking drivers, with pick-up times starting at 2 pm for guests who book the Firefly & Hot Spring Tour Option.

Guests who book only the Firefly Tour will be picked up between 4 PM and 4:15 PM.

• Setapak Hot Spring - Our first stop will be Setapak Hot Spring, where you can relax your tired feet in the healing mineral waters. According to locals, this place has been around for the past four decades and is a popular spot among them. They believe that the spring water can cure skin diseases and other ailments. Therefore, it is not surprising to see many elderly and young people coming here to bathe, especially during the weekends.
• Kuala Lumpur - After visiting the Hot Springs, we will proceed to Kuala Selangor for our next destination.

Note: En route, we will pick up other passengers who booked only the Firefly Tour.

• Sri Shakti Temple - Sri Shakti Temple stands majestically as a unique beacon of Hindu architectural excellence in Malaysia.

Note: The temple is open only at specific times, and most of the time, we stop only for photos.

• Bukit Melawati - Bukit Melawati, or Melawati Hill, is a hill in Malaysia near Kuala Selangor. It is a popular tourist attraction, overlooking the Strait of Malacca, and features a lighthouse as well as the remains of the Kota Melawati fort.

The fort was built in the late 1700s by Sultan Ibrahim of Selangor to protect against Dutch invaders, but the Dutch captured it and renamed it Fort Altingburg. Sultan Ibrahim recaptured the fort in 1785, but it was eventually destroyed during the Selangor Civil War.

To reach Bukit Melawati, tourists can take a tram, also known as the tourist train. The tourist train operates only on weekends and public holidays from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. If visiting on weekdays, we will drive up to Bukit Melawati. The tram ticket for adults is RM 10.

• Altingsburg Lighthouse - Formerly named Altingsburg Lighthouse, after a Dutch governor. Built in 1907 and began operating in 1910.

This beautiful lighthouse is located on top of Bukit Melawati, Kuala Selangor. It’s a great place for photos. However, tourists are not allowed to enter the lighthouse.

• Kuala Selangor - Seafood Dinner

Before the firefly boat tour, you will enjoy dinner at one of the many seafood restaurants inside the park or nearby (dinner at the customer’s own cost). These restaurants are known for their delicious seafood dishes, located near the waterfront. Your driver will take you to the best restaurant in the area.

• Kuala Selangor Firefly Park - Just 2.5 km from Kuala Selangor Nature Park and Bukit Melawati, Pasir Penambang is a main starting point for firefly tours conducted by Asni Tours.

This boat tour allows you to see the fireflies hovering over the river in Kuala Selangor. It takes about half an hour to complete the tour, and during the tour, the boat stops at a station where you can observe the light show.

Get to know Kuala Selangor’s fireflies:
The firefly is an insect belonging to the beetle family, with the ‘Pteroptyx tener’ species being the most prevalent in Kuala Selangor and measuring around 5mm. During the darkness of the night, these minuscule creatures gather on berembang trees (Sonneratia caseolaris), a variety of mangrove that naturally flourishes in the brackish waters of the Selangor River’s banks.

• A moderate amount of walking is involved; comfortable walking shoes and insect repellent are recommended
• Boat tour conducted with Basic English speaking rider (no worry this will be locally local)
• What to bring – Sport shoes or shoes with rubber soles are recommended when visiting. Also remember to pack plenty of mosquito repellent.
• Flash photography is strictly prohibited as this may interfere with the fireflies, who communicate by emitting lights from their abdomen.
