Your private tour of Ipoh & Orang Utan Island from Kuala Lumpur begins with a hotel pick-up by a friendly and professional driver. A 4-hour drive north along the North-South Expressway takes you to the tranquil community of Bukit Merah town, passing through small palm oil plantations and pineapple fields.

Upon arrival, board the ferry to Orang Utan Island. Step ashore and be amazed by the ‘People of the Jungle’ or Orang Utans, an endangered species. Scientifically recognized as highly intelligent animals, Orang Utans have one of the longest birth intervals, averaging once every 8 years. Enjoy an hour and a half at this dedicated rehabilitation sanctuary and capture plenty of photos for memories.

• Perak Tong Cave Temple - Visitors can see a 40-foot tall Golden Sitting Buddha statue dominating the temple. The cavern walls are adorned with colorful murals depicting characters and events from Chinese mythology. Behind the statue, a flight of over 450 steps leads into the far recesses of the cave and out through an opening on the side of the hill, offering views of the northern suburbs of Ipoh from the highest pavilion.
• Ipoh Railway Station - Next, visit the Ipoh Railway Station, affectionately known as the ‘Taj Mahal of Ipoh’. This charming attraction features ornate Moorish architecture and a beautifully landscaped area with fountains.
• Birch Memorial Clock Tower - Situated in a square in Old Ipoh, the four-sided Birch Memorial Clock Tower stands in front of the Ipoh State Mosque. The white-washed structure is surrounded by four statues representing the pillars of British administration: ‘patience, justice, loyalty, and fortitude’. Unlike other clock towers in Malaysia, Ipoh’s has a story of violence, revenge, and a Malay uprising.
• Concubine Lane - In 2015, Ipoh Old Town was a quiet place, often described as laid-back with cafes, traditional coffee, food, and vibrant street art. The three Concubine Lanes were not well-known. In July 2016, Lonely Planet listed Ipoh as one of the best Asian destinations to visit, and photos of the Concubine Lanes began appearing in news articles. The lanes were opened to the public.
• Ipoh Heritage Walk - The Ipoh Heritage Walk is a leisurely stroll around the compact and historic old town area of Ipoh. The walk is approximately 4 miles long, but you can extend or shorten it based on your energy levels.
