- Klang - Klang, also known as Kelang, is a city and port located in the west-central region of Peninsular (West) Malaysia. It is situated along the Kelang River and the 40-mile (64-km) railway connecting Kuala Lumpur to Port Kelang. The city serves as an administrative hub for a district known for its rubber and fruit cultivation. During the 19th-century tin rush, Klang was a key entry port to the central region. Initially recognized for its coffee, the city shifted to intensive rubber production in the 1890s when coffee prices declined, leading to rubber plantations on cleared estates.
