Bako Wildlife & Permai Rainforest

Bako National Park Carpark and Boat Jetty - Pickup begins at 7:30 AM, followed by a 30–40 minute drive to a riverside village near Bako. From there, guests will continue their journey upstream to reach the Park Headquarters in an exciting and memorable manner. As guests approach the national park, the impressive rock formations will immediately capture their attention.

Bako National Park - Within the National Park, guests will witness wildlife thriving in this vibrant landscape, from the common long-tailed macaque to the elusive silver leaf monkey and the iconic proboscis monkey, with approximately 275 individuals residing in the area. These delightful creatures are often seen swinging through the trees or relaxing in the mangroves.

Other notable inhabitants of the park include the bearded wild boar, the largest resident mammal, and the charming silver leaf monkey, which may display shyness by urinating if they feel threatened. Visitors can also spot squirrels, flying lemurs, otters, tarsiers, slow loris, and various bird species, both resident and migratory, enhancing Bako’s rich biodiversity. Our experienced park guide will lead you to spot the iconic Green-pit viper.

Permai Rainforest Resort - After the hike, guests will return from the park area. Our driver will then transport guests to Permai Rainforest and assist with check-in to their designated accommodation, either a treehouse or a jungle villa. Enjoy the evening at leisure to relax and unwind. Take a refreshing shower at the jungle pool and enjoy the sunset from the private beach.

Bengoh Valley Adventure

Bengoh Dam - At 7:00 AM, breakfast will be served at the Tree Café, typically as a buffet, with à la carte options during low occupancy. After breakfast, guests may relax and explore the rainforest. There are several organized trails, and guests can choose a shorter self-guided walk to the waterfall. After the hike, guests can freshen up and check out by 10:00 AM. Our vehicle will then drive them to Bengoh, a journey of approximately two hours.

Batang Ai Headhunters Village

Bengoh Dam - Rise early to enjoy the sunrise view from the mountain. After the sunrise, breakfast will be served. Check out from the homestay and descend from the mountain for a short boat ride.

Lachau - Along the way, the trip will stop at Lachau Bazaar at 11:00 AM. Stroll around the shops and the small native market and have an early lunch in a local coffee shop.

Batang Ai Dam - The journey will then continue until arrival at Batang Ai Lake around 1:30–2:00 PM. From there, the journey continues, enjoying the scenic surroundings before arriving at the Longhouse.

Longhouses of Sarawak - Settle into the headhunters’ homestay or the longhouse and freshen up. There will be a short tea break and an explanation about the activities in the village. Dinner will be served at 7:30 PM. After dinner, spend time with the headhunters. Learn about their culture, customs, and stories. They will offer some local rice wine known as Tuak. At 10:00 PM, prepare for bed and leisure, ready for the next day’s adventure.

Jungle Trekking & Rainforest Adventure

Longhouses of Sarawak - Return to the village around 3:00 PM. After freshening up, guests can relax on the Ruai (common Verandah). A village activity demonstration will be provided. Spend time with the Iban kids and create memories. Dinner will be served at 7:30 PM. There will be a small night walk with our experienced local guide upon request (this is an optional activity with no extra charge but subject to availability and weather conditions). Please ensure proper footwear suitable for mud and water trails. If the night walk is not possible, a cultural program will be arranged (no extra charge).

Farewell & Back to Kuching

Serian - The journey from the jetty to Kuching begins around 11:00 AM. After a 2-hour drive, there will be a stop at Serian for refueling and lunch in a local restaurant.

Kuching - The estimated time of arrival in the city is 3:30 PM.
