Occasionally, gaurs and leopards may also be seen. Important note before booking: This is not a zoo visit. The national park is home to approximately 320 protected wild elephants, and the likelihood of seeing them in their natural habitat is about 90-95 percent. However, sightings cannot be guaranteed, and the number of elephants seen may vary. Sometimes they are visible from a distance or just a few hundred meters away. There are also many other animals to observe, including birds and gaurs. The visit to the park lasts about 3 hours, sometimes extending until dusk.
- Hua Hin - Following the national park visit, guests will enjoy a traditional Thai dinner at a local restaurant near the park, supporting the community before returning to their hotel.

Kuiburi National Park is the sole location in Thailand where over 320 protected wild elephants reside, offering a remarkable 95% chance to observe them in their pristine habitat. Besides Asian elephants and gaurs, other frequently seen mammals include golden jackals, various deer species, langurs, white-handed gibbons, Burmese hares, Malay porcupines, and wild boars. Kui Buri boasts a diverse bird population with more than 260 species recorded. Notable birds include crested falcons, grey peacock pheasants, ferrous partridges, Tickell’s brown hornbills, white-crowned hornbills, brown fish owls, yellow-vented green pigeons, white-fronted dwarf-eared owls, mustached hawks, red-necked hornbills, blue-collared parrots, chestnut-nickel fork tails, red-bearded bee-eaters, and maroon woodpeckers. Additionally, visitors might encounter birds like the Crested Fireback, Indian Roller, and Asian Openbill, as well as gaurs and leopards.

Elephants in the wild - I went on this Kuiburi National Park tour with my wife. We had done many different experiences with elephants in the past, but this was our first time seeing them in the wild. We were prepared to possibly not see any. After all, there could not be a guarantee for us to see anything, since these were wild animals. I was thinking that if we were lucky to see any, that they would be a great distance away. It turns out that we saw a big group of elephants just a few minutes into the tour. We were even quite close to them. I would not have wanted to be any closer than we were. At this point, I already thought the tour was a success. We did end up seeing quite a few more in several different areas of the park. I highly recommend this experience for everyone.

A unique experience - Great tour to the national park. In total we probably saw 20 elephants, also many calves. The great scenery, the flora and fauna did the rest. Super nette Tourguidin. Waeer was only available in the Pick Up in the park, for the ride (about 90 min. From Hua Hin) you should take a water with you. The pick-ups are not covered, you are at the mercy of the weather, whether sun or rain.

Family afternoon appreciating Thailand's respect for wildlife. - I joined this tour with my grandchildren. We saw some elephants but disappointingly only through the bushes. The weather was very wet, and that may have affected their behavior. We did however see a little fat baby elephant skipping with the few we spotted - which was rather special.
We saw a family of wild pigs ... running for their lives in a line with the biggest at the front and the smallest at the back - very funny.
On turning a bend in the road we suddenly came face to face with a huge beautiful duar buffalo... a rare species. We screamed, and he looked horrified and ran off. There was a herd of the buffalo in the park which we could see from a distance - the one we encountered must have been a loner.
We saw deer, hornbills, and lizards 🦎
On the whole it was a rather lovely experience.
We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel by our cheerful, interesting, knowledgeable guide, and we were fed a good Thai meal on our way back to Hua Hin.
We were well looked after.
And - I met a nice Canadian called Richard. 😊

Kuiburi National Park - Elephants - We were lucky and saw, I think, 40 or 50 wild elephants and a lot of other animals. In some cases, the distance to elephants was very close, I think 40 or 50 metres.

Loved it! - What a wonderful day. My husband and I were picked up from our hotel at 1.30pm, along with and 2 couples by our fabulous guide M and driver. We headed out on our 90 minutes drive to Kuiburi National Park. When we arrived we changed into an open back truck with fingers crossed we would see some elephants in their natural environment. We weren’t disappointed, with 10 minutes we saw our first elephant mulling about in the trees. We moved on through the park and stopped at a viewing area where we saw another elephant, amazing! After around 1 hour or so we headed back to the coach point and our guide was told there were elephants close by. We were then fortunate to see a few elephants have a dust shower - just wonderful. We then headed for dinner at a restaurant around 30 minutes away. We were greeted with plates of food that were delicious. Soup, chicken and pork dishes which were replenished when empty. We had to pay for our drinks (soft drinks too) which was not an issue at all. We then headed back to our hotel, arriving around 8pm. All in all it was around a 7 hour trip and we loved it all. We thoroughly recommend and hope you are fortunate enough to see the elephants

Long journey, beautiful park! - The journey from Cha Am was unfortunately quite far. The national park is very nice. We have seen elephants, buffalo, a lizard and various birds. Unfortunately, everything from afar.
Still a nice experience.
The dinner was great, the escort was also very nice.

Lovely wee trip - A lovely well organised tour.
There was 5 people on our tour. Bob was excellent throughout. We had a lovely dinner on way back to hotel which was lovely and was a small family run restaurant.
We managed to site 3 elephants which made the trip extra special.

Well organized and if you’re lucky like us, animals are beautiful! - Mr. M was our guide and he was very kind since the beginning. Picked us up in a very comfortable mini van with individual seats. We were lucky to be only 4 in the group. We headed to the park, he explained a bit about the National Park, the Elephants population and other animals. We joined a 4x4 with their Ranger and started the safari. We were very lucky to see a lot of elephants since the beginning of the track. We saw more than 40 elephants in total, during 5 stops. We also saw the wild cows, a deer and some birds. I felt safe with our Ranger Pen and the fact that she respected the distances from the animals. The dinner on they way back was really good and a lot of food. It was just a pity that it was so close to the main road, so super noisy with trucks and cars.
I missed more information about the animals during the “chase” and also about the nature around the park. In general, on the ride, we got just informations when we asked for them. I would also appreciate if we could have stopped more for the birds, as we saw some beautiful species, but didn’t stop for it, just once. That being said, the decision where and when to stop is up to the Ranger.
I think it worth it because we were able to see the animals, so it was nice. But in case you don’t see anything, I think can be a bit monotonous. The park has one track to be followed, so no options to go around or try different routes - from what I understood. I think it worth it to take the chance to see them, it was amazing to spot them in their nature.

Dissapointed - Only saw 1 elephant, very dissapointed. You would think they were tracked so people could see what they paid for.

Boring and disappointing - The guide told us only what we could experience but nothing during the experience itself. Do not engage with children under probably 14 years old when everyone else under bored as we noticed in the other cars. We were first driven to a large place so one had to walk around there even for 45 minutes where only this day there was a kind of animal to see, then we were driven to another place where there were the same animals to watch for about 15 minutes.
This is not recommended for smaller children
