• Kuranda Koala Gardens - Begin your self-guided wildlife adventure at Kuranda Koala Gardens.

At the gardens, visitors can get close to freshwater crocodiles and have the opportunity to feed kangaroos and wallabies. Feeding these animals is supervised by the wonderful team at the gardens, and the animals have the choice to accept the food offered or simply relax – being a kangaroo is hard work! Guests will also encounter the elusive wombats – these sleepy, shy creatures are the largest burrowing mammals in the world and are rarely seen in the wild, so be sure not to miss them! Additionally, there is a chance to see the rare Greater Bilby, the Northern Bettong, Mahogany Glider, and more in the new ‘Nocturnal Wonders’ exhibit.

• Birdworld Kuranda - While visiting Kuranda Koala Gardens, guests will receive a ticket for Birdworld, where Australia’s largest collection of free-flying birds awaits! Located just a short walk from the Koala Gardens, this expansive flight aviary is adorned with water features and rainforest plants, housing over 80 species of native and rare birds.

Spot cassowaries, which are becoming increasingly rare in the wild, as well as bowerbirds, parrots, lorikeets, playful cockatoos, and other Australian birds. Visitors will also see international guests such as South American macaws.
