As the sole Arashiyama-based bike tour, we are thrilled to showcase the beauty of this area to your family.
Pricing is set for a family of up to 4 members. For groups larger than 4, an additional fee of 15,000 yen per extra participant applies.
This is a public tour, and you may be paired with another family. For a private tour, please inquire separately.
*At least one participant must be under 12 years old and accompanied by an adult.
*Children 123 cm and shorter will ride in a child seat or tag along.
*A light snack is provided. We may not be able to accommodate all dietary restrictions and allergies.

Wonderful bike ride with the family - We had such a wonderful bike ride in Kyoto! Our kids (ages 2 and 6) had an amazing time, and Peter went above and beyond to keep them entertained throughout the tour.
The bikes themselves were excellent and perfectly prepared for us. Everything was adjusted in advance to match our heights, which made the ride very comfortable from the start. Communication beforehand was smooth and clear, which we really appreciated.
Our daughter’s bike was attached as a tag-along to one of the parents’ bikes, and she absolutely loved it. It made the experience extra fun and special for her.
All in all, a fantastic family-friendly activity that we’d highly recommend!

Thank you for the memories! - Yuki was the very best tour guide. We had our 12 and 10 year old kids with us and this was the highlight of our time in Kyoto. Yuki personalized the tour, offered a wonderful history of the city while expertly navigating the streets of Kyoto and making sure everyone in the group felt included. The kids enjoyed collecting stamps along the way and we enjoyed this fun and unique way of getting to know Kyoto. Yuki made the whole experience free by taking care of all of the purchases along the way and introducing us to the best donuts we’ve ever had. Thank you, Kyoto Bike Tours, for memories that will last a lifetime.

Best afternoon in Kyoto👌👌👌 - Yuki was our guide for a group of 4 adults and two elementary age kids and he made it such a relaxed, positive and educational experience!
We loved it!
It was well over four hours filled with stops at bamboo forests, Monkey Park( be prepared to walk up steep hill for 20 minutes) playgrounds and the best donut treat ever after a very busy afternoon.
Yuki was especially good with the kids, giving them stamps on (a book they gifted ) from each place they visited. He made them feel special!

Outstanding family bike tour of the Arashiyama Bamboo forest! - This was arguably our single favorite memory in a Japan trip full of outstanding experiences over 2 weeks! Ray is a 5 star tour guide (and an even better person) who is an experienced cyclist with a local's knowledge of Kyoto and Japan overall. He also happens to be amazing with children (we brought a 10 year old, two 7 year olds, and a 4 year old). We had so much fun cycling through parts of Kyoto, the iconic Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, and seeing Kyoto on high while feeding the monkeys at the monkey park. Ray took his time and you can tell he is proud of his city. We felt comfortable. safe, and looked after throughout the tour. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fantastic family bike tour - We had a fantastic experience on the Kyoto Family Bike Tour! It was such a wonderful way to see Kyoto and visit places we may have missed. Our guide, Ray, was phenomenal and took incredible photos. Highly recommend!

Peter was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable about Japanese culture and traditions, we learned so much! The kids ( 8 and 11yo) had a blast wandering around the bamboo forest and the monkey park! We recommend this tour to all families looking for a different way of discovering this stunning part of Kyoto!

Incredibly good tour for family - The family tour was fantastic! We had 3 adults, a 5 year old and 2 year old twins. Ray was really good with the kids and they loved the stamp books he gave them. The bamboo forest was great to see and the monkey park was amazing. This bike tour was a great way to see the city. The cycling was easy and the stops were timed perfectly. To end it with the “best donuts in the world” really topped off the trip. If you are in Kyoto with kids, you will love it!

We didn't see time passing. Kids also loved - We were at de bike tour with our 5 e 8 year old son. The bicycles were in excellent condition. Our 5-year-old son used a tandem bicycle. It was winter, but the cold didn't bother us. We had a great afternoon.
Our guide was Ray, he's great with kids and taught us a lot about Japanese culture.
He took a tour without any rush and we lost track of time.
Plus, he took great photos.
