If you want to see the most of Kyoto in one day, book this tour - The full day tour of Kyoto with Paul was an absolute delight. We got to see so much of Kyoto, both the tourist landmarks and the authentic lesser known temples. We loved riding through the back streets, parks, along the river, enjoying the sakuras and different neighbourhoods. Above all, Paul was a wonderful guide - so kind, knowledgeable and easygoing, adapting the tour to our needs and rhythm. The whole tour was very kid friendly, and bicycles were light and of good quality. Great lunch experience at the conveyer sushi place. I warmly recommend this tour to families - we got to see the best of Kyoto in a fun and easygoing atmosphere.

Full Day Rural Bike Ride Was Best Part of Our Trip - We spent 11 days in Japan and the full day country side bike ride was the best part of our trip. Beautiful views, amazing tea, coffee, and lunch, historic spots, and no other tourists in sight. Shaune was an incredible tour guide. Details included a local Shinto shrine and Shaune explained the background and community, had a tea ceremony while overlooking tea fields, visited a buddah temple (Kasagidera), and the split rock from the Demon Slayer anime show. All while enjoying beautiful scenery in the rolling hills.

Don't hesitate...just go! - Had a great day with Karl and the other cyclists. Despite of the full day of rain (we were all geared up in ponchos) it was an amazing experience. We had lots of fun, saw all the highlights whilst at the same time Karl tailored the activities and length of the visit to the interest of our group

Excellent! - Our booking and cycling experience were excellent! This was a fabulous way to see Kyoto. We felt safe riding as took many side streets and canal paths. Our guide, Juan was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. We avoided a lot of the crowds and had great experiences at all the sites. Our son is 8 and used the tag along bike on the e-bike and it worked great.

Great way to cover so much...and give your feet a rest! - This was a fabulous way to see many of the highlights of Kyoto, as well as experiencing some of the lesser known sides to the city. The bikes were great and our guide Julian was simply brilliant - great subject knowledge, and I loved hearing about every day life in Japan as well. He helped us get some great photo shots in some very busy places. We went back to the same lunch location later in our trip because it was so much fun. The cycling is 95% easy (just a couple of short inclines) and a mix of road and cycle lane/pavement, with the usual challenges of changing traffic lights, wayward dogs and errant pedestrians. Julian held it all together beautifully. I would 100% recommend.

High recommendation! Indra was a great guide :) - We had a great day with our guide Indra. The bikes were in great shape. We learned a lot of interesting things about Japan that we would never have learned about a guidebook. Indra has always paid attention to our needs and we couldn't have imagined a better guide. The route and lunch were perfectly planned. I would recommend this bike tour to anyone who is in Kyoto. Thank you Indra!:)

Amazing Way to See Kyoto with an Incredible Guide - The tour was extremely well organized, fun, and packed with incredible sights. Juan was very knowledgeable about Kyoto’s history, culture, and temples and he shared interesting stories and details at every stop that made the experience so much richer than visiting the sites on our own. He also kept a comfortable pace and made sure everyone felt safe and confident biking through the city. One of the best parts of the tour was how much we were able to see in one day. We visited Honganji Temple, Kitano Tenmangu, the beautiful Golden Pavilion, the Imperial Palace, Gion, Tofukuji Temple, and finished at the incredible Fushimi Inari Shrine. Traveling by bike gave us a unique perspective of Kyoto and allowed us to explore parts of the city we likely would never have found otherwise. Lunch was included and it was a great break during the ride. The food was delicious and it was the perfect opportunity to relax before continuing the adventure. Juan’s enthusiasm, deep knowledge of Kyoto, and great sense of humor made the whole experience engaging and memorable. If you are visiting Kyoto and want a fun and active way to see the city, I highly recommend Cycle Kyoto and especially Juan as your guide.
