Fushimi Inari nighttime tour - We had the best visit to Fushari Inari guided by Jem. Jem was super personable and had an incredible amount of knowledge about Fushari Inari. She taught us about the history of the shrine, the symbolism throughout, engaged us with funny stories and included the respectful customs when offering prayers. We didn’t go to the very top of the shrine but I didn’t feel I missed anything. It was the perfect length of time to visit. Thank you Jem, I hope our paths cross again!!

Great tour! - I usually hire guides when I travel. This was my first experience with a guide in Japan and I appreciated a lot. My mum and I were so lucky to have Jem as our private guide. She toured us around the sacred area of the Fushimi-Inari in a lovely moment between afternoon and sunset. The timing was perfect to enjoy the place in different moments of the day. Jem was super nice and patient to answer all our questions about a completely different culture. She knew perfectly when to stop to be on our own without other people around. Thanks to her I hade the chance to take great picture, I would have never expected not to be surrounded by the crowds. She made our time together one of the highlights of our Japanese trip. I highly recommend her, with a guide travelling is always better!

10 out of 10 - I had a fantástic time with Masaki! I though we were only going to tour the bottom part of the temple, but we did almost to a half point, which wasn't very hard. Masaki knew so much about Inari and was very open to my questions. The tour gave me a better understanding of shinto too. I recommend 100%. Mine was on february at 6:00 pm and the temple was almost empty, so easy to take great photos.

Kyoto Fushimi Inari night tour - It was absolutely amazing! Our guide, Hiro, was great & super knowledgeable. He taught us about the culture and different beliefs of the Shrines and temples. We had a great time!

Torii Gates Tour - Tammy was an excellent tour guide! My husband and I learned so much. The tour was about 2 hours with plenty of picture opportunities and was very interactive. The evening time means crowds were generally low. There is no admittance fee for the shrine but I would bring some money to participate in prayer, receiving fortunes, or to make a wish and donation to the shrine. A great experience overall!

Night walk inari shrine - Excellent time to visit this shrine and I leant a lot. Tammy was a wonderful guide I would highly recommend this tour to learn more about Shintoism without the crowds

A wonderful way to experience this iconic site - Fushimi Inari shrine is one of the most famous and popular tourist destinations in Kyoto, but to get the most out of the visit it helps to have a knowledgeable guide to explain the significance of and history behind its many features. That's where a company like Tomodachi Tours can be a nice asset. My son and I took their nighttime tour during mid-January 2026. Our guide, Gem, was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She kept us engaged by interspersing jokes, quizzes and her personal experiences throughout her tour narration. Conducting the tour in the evening gave the experience a solemn, almost eerie element. NOTE that there is a good deal of walking during the tour, much of it uphill, so plan accordingly. All-in-all, we really enjoyed our tour and would definitely recommend it to others.

Beautiful! - Wonderful tour! Our tour guide Jem was super friendly and fun! She was very informed about the area and clearly knew what she was doing. Also had a bunch of fun stories about the site which were very interesting and educational! Beautiful site and great tour overall. Worth the walking!
