If you’re in Kyoto for a few days, start with this tour! - Yuta is such a fabulous tour guide! Highly recommend this if you want some context on Kyoto’s important background to Japan’s history and how Shinto and Buddhism are woven into Japanese culture. Just an awesome tour and a fun ride!

Fun way to experience Kyoto without the crowds - Awesome experience! Great way to experience lesser crowded (but just as fascinating & beautiful) shrines & temples. Riding the bike through the neighborhoods was so fun & exhilarating - felt super authentic. Paul was a great guide with a passion for history & great storytelling skills. We really enjoyed this experience

Superb bike tour and Shrines and Temples - We selected trip based on good TA reviews . We were deeply impressed by the quality of the cultural experience provided our guide Yuta. All safety briefings and fit-out were completed expertly and efficiently and then we proceeded to be blown away by the beauty and grandeur of the places we toured. Yuta “read the room” very well and in the course of teaching us about both Shinto and Buddhism, he treated us to a little meditation, which was enjoyed by all. 5+ score well-deserved.

A Perfect Tour with a Perfect Guide - My husband and I took the Hidden Charms cycle tour guided by Yuta. The bikes were excellent and the sights were great. We looked forward to our 4-hour trip and the sights we were going to see. What we didn’t know was what an incredible guide we were going to have with such expansive knowledge. We started in the Geisha District and learned about the life of a Geisha: an unbelievably rigorous journey for a young girl to undertake! We were captivated by Yuta’s knowledge of Japanese history over the centuries including empires, battles, politics, religion, and relationships with other countries. We learned the difference between temples and shrines. Our senses were deliciously overloaded on this tour from sights to tastes to smells. However, it was our last stop at the Daitokuji Temple that completely overwhelmed me. Our guide took us into a quiet room, where we sat as he took us through a peaceful meditative session. I will never forget the emotions that filled my soul. Yuta is a master guide with skills and knowledge that transcend any other guide I have ever had.

A brilliant adventure by bike! Henry you were great. 👍🏻 - Undoubtedly the best tour experience of our Japan adventure so far. Our guide Henry was exceptional; his depth of knowledge of Japanese history was outstanding as was his willingness to answer any and all questions. The locations visited were hidden gems and mochi from the world’s oldest sweet shop was certainly unforgettable.

Awesome ride! - Our guide Yuta was amazing. He had so much to share about Japanese culture and the areas of which we biked to. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyoto. The e-bikes were beginner friendly, just keep in mind sometimes there will biking close to cars in narrow-ish streets. Besides that, the views and destinations were wonderful and was one of the highlights of our trip.
