Cooking in Kyoto - It was our first time to Japan and this cooking experience was absolutely amazing. Having Miho as our teacher was perfect. To have this cooking experience at a home made it more intimate. Not only did she teach us how to cook, but she explained the significance of some of the ingredients. From miso soup, sushi, to mochi ice cream for dessert, everything we made was delicious! After making our delicious meal, we were able to enjoy it in a traditional way. Miho also took us to the market and showed us many types of food and ingredients. This cooking experience is a must! Truly a memorable time! Thank you Miho for opening up your place to us and teaching us some Japanese dishes.

Splendid! - I had the most wonderful experience in my cooking class with Milo! She was so lovely and taught me so much about the different ingredients and techniques to make a variety of traditional Japanese foods. I am so glad we made so many different items. Now I can brag that I can make tamagoyaki! Making it in a local home made it even more special. I highly recommend for other solo travelers and groups! Cannot wait to introduce her teachings to family and friends back home.

Highlight of our trip to Kyoto! - Experiencing the daily lives of Japanese locals is something that is easily missed in simple travel. This opportunity not only teaches you the foundation of Japanese cooking, but it also exposes you to the Japanese home life! Our cooking instructor provided us with surprising and insightful answers to all our curious questions. This was by far the best part of our trip in Kyoto.

Look no further, this is the one! - One of the highlights of our trip! We always like to do cooking classes when we travel and this one is a stand-out. Miho is a wonderful, knowledgeable host and we had such a lovely time learning from and chatting with her. The class was very well-organized and ran smoothly, but never felt rushed. We really liked that we made a variety of dishes to create a delicious, filling lunch set which we got to enjoy in Miho’s traditional Japanese room with tatami flooring. And the supermarket trip at the end was the icing on top!

Delicious food and great knowledge - It was such a great experience! The food was amazing, the host was really friendly and helpful, answered our questions. We did some side dishes, sushi, eggroll omlete (it was difficult to flip it but I always wanted to learn it :D ) And we did our mochi! Turns out it’s not so difficult and is delicious! We will do our own at home for sure! Thank you Miho for the great classes

Awesome cooking lesson with Miho - I was traveling in Kyoto for 2 days on my own this week, and I really wanted to learn some Japanese home cooking since my family back home loves Japanese food. My teacher was Miho - we met at Iroha cooking studio which is in a really pretty Japanese home near Fushimi Inari. We've made the following dishes: 1. Dashi Tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omlette with Dashi) 2. Spinach with sesame dressing - came out amazing! Really surprised me by how good this side dish was. 3. Inari Sushi 4. Maki Sushi with egg and vegetagles. 5. Tempura vegetables (which it turned out are easier to make than I expected and in my opinion came out really great and much tastier than the ones I usually eat at restaurants in the US) 6. Miso soup 7. Mochi ice cream for dessert When I got in I told Miho I have very little experience with cooking, and she explained everything really patiently while we were cooking. I now feel confident I can repeat this process by myself, and can't wait to make this meal for my family! After we were done, I sat down to eat. It was a LOT of food, and everything came out incredible. I also had a lot of maki rolls left over which were enough for me for dinner as well. After eating, Miho took me to the local supermarket, where she showed me where to buy the different ingredients we used, and also gave recommendations for things that could be good souvenirs. The location of this class is also really good for combining with a trip to Fushimi Inari (it's around 10 minutes walk from where the class is held).

Excellent Traditional Japanese Cooking Experience! - Miho was an amazing instructor that allowed us to get very hands on with traditional, delicious Japanese dishes. She was very prepared, and English was excellent. We’ve done several different cooking classes throughout the world and this one was one of the best.
