Nice experience. - Good experience with authentic kimono and styling to make it feel special. The guide who led the group tea ceremony was knowledgeable and friendly. You should know the tea ceremony had low seats- but you didn’t have to kneel. Something that may be important for folks with bad knees and wasn’t clear from description.

Amazing experience!!! Must-do while in Kyoto! - This experience is an absolute must while in Kyoto! Tea making and the associated rituals are some of the most treasured traditions in Japan. They first lead you to a room across the street where skilled stylists transform your hair and put you in beautiful Kimono if you’re a woman (and for males, their traditional attire). They then lead you to a beautiful tea room where they explain the history and guide you through the rituals. Afterward, there is a photo session in the tea room and garden. I felt very welcomed as a solo traveler! What an amazing, culturally enriching experience that was worth every penny!

Absolutely fantastic visit here - would highly recommend! - Loved this trip. The story behind it was very interesting, our guide was brilliant and also had a great sense of humour. The whole group seemed to be mesmerised by this tea ceremony and it was everything I hoped it would be. Loved that we were given the chance after watching our guide make tea to make our own and I have purchased lots of matcha tea and a bamboo whisk to recreate the tea now I am back home. The tea was delicious. Educational and also a lot of fun I would wholeheartedly recommend this trip to anyone who is in Japan for an authentic trip and to gain knowledge about this historic way of life.

Tea House Ceremony - This tea ceremony was really fun. We were dressed up in Kimonos. This was a very complicated process. We learned about the steps and significance of making Matcha tea. Everyone was able to go through the process to make our own cups of tea. We are seniors and the tea house was able to provide us with chairs to sit on.

Memorable tea ceremony - The tea ceremony was one of the highlights of our entire trip! I was dressed in a beautiful Kimono, and had my hair styled with accessories. My husband was dressed as well. The different parts and meanings of the ceremony itself were beautifully explained. The host showed us whisking technique, cup placement, and so much more, and was truly outstanding. We would highly recommend this for anyone traveling to Kyoto.
