Such an authentic and... - Such an authentic and beautiful experience. Highlight of our trip! Our 10 year old daughter enjoyed it as well. No photos of the dance allowed so we purchased a photo session with the maiko.

I toured the museum, watched the dance performance and had some photos taken. - i really enjoyed touring the museum and the dance performance by the maiko. The museum display include kimono, footwear, obi, hair ornaments, musical intruments and many other items used by maiko and geisha. The panels explaining the objects in the museum were easily translated into English using the barcode photo app on the iPhone. The dance was the hilight for me. I love dance and the maiko are so graceful in their hand motions and movement. I would go again.

Cool experience - It was the perfect duration of performance for us. About 20 min long and the geiko museum was very informative for who want to spend more time knowing about geiko and Maiko traditions. And each show accommodates about 40-50 people, so everyone can see the dancers from up close. Please be aware that you have to remove the shoes before entering the building. better if kids stay quiet.

Beautiful experience! - Great experience! This was a highlight of our trip. It was so interesting to learn more about the hidden culture of the Geiko and Maiko in Gion, and we really enjoyed the performance. It was about 15 minutes. The kimono on display and the beautiful Japanese garden in the back were lovely. Not really suitable for young children. Visitors are expected to be quiet and respectful.

Geisha and Maiko of Kyoto Gion - I think it's very good. I thought it was good to know about the Geisha and Maiko of Gion. It was great to have a photo session with a geisha and a walk in the garden at the end, with beautiful kimonos, hair ornaments and even current photos.

Beautiful performance dance a must see in Kyoto. - It was a wonderful experience. Before entering the performance there are a few Kimono’s on display. They were gorgeous, the detail in them is amazing. The dance performance by the Maiko and Geshia was beautiful and easy to follow the story they were telling. The kimonos they wore were gorgeous.

Beautiful Dance by Maiko-san and Geiko-san! - A wonderful show and incredible museum! This is a must for visiting Kyoto! The show was about 15-20 mins long and it was a great a beautiful show. The museum itself had a great deal of information fill with rich cultural history. For the price, this is one of the best things to do in Kyoto! You cannot take any pictures of the Maiko-san or Geiko-san but you can pay to do a photo-op at the end and take pictures with them, (2000 yen at time of my visit in Nov 2024). The entire show and walking around the museum took around an hour and a half. I highly recommend making this a part of your Kyoto trip!

A fantastic insight into the life of a Geiko! - Stunning insight into the life of the Geiko (the official term used in Kyoto. The dance was beautifully portrayed and the museum and gardens were very informative. The show is short but worth it. We had already done a Geiko tour of Kyoto so we did know the some of the history which made the dance even more rewarding to see live.
