Epic tour - Our guide was AMAZING, she was very kind and very knowledgeable of the areas we went through with great detail. She made us all feel very welcome, asking questions to get to know us better. The tour itself was great, learned so much of the history of Kyoto that I didn't read about in history books. Over all fantastic experience and highly recommend to everyone!!!

The soul of Kyoto at night - I always thought geisha and maiko were the same, but now I finally understand the difference. Hearing about their training and role in Kyoto’s culture made the evening fascinating. We were lucky enough to see one walking by, which felt unreal.

Learned about geisha and maiko - This tour was so much more than just sightseeing. As we walked through the lantern-lit streets of Gion, the guide explained Kyoto’s long history and how traditions still shape life today. It felt like stepping back in time, yet also connecting to the present.

Not in the guidebooks - The atmosphere in Gion after dark is fantastic. The wooden houses, quiet shrines, and narrow alleys created a timeless mood. The guide’s stories gave depth to every place we visited. I left with a new appreciation for Kyoto’s cultural soul.

Good walking - Walking in the city at night is perfect like not that hot and the atmosphere was completely different like quiet, almost mystical. Our host timed everything perfectly so we avoided the biggest crowds and enjoyed the city.

Learned so much in just two hours - I didn’t expect to learn this much in such a short walk. Misaki connected history with modern Kyoto in a way that kept me engaged the whole time. By the end, I felt like I understood not just the places but the traditions behind them.

Beyond the tourist path - What I appreciated most was that the guide, Misaki led us through backstreets and spots where locals actually go. I didn’t feel like just another tourist being shuffled around. It was authentic, insightful, and left me curious to explore more.
