⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10 out of 5 stars – truly exceptional - Our tour of the historic Gion district with Aye was nothing short of fantastic. From start to finish, he was professional, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. His command of the English language is flawless, which made communication effortless and the storytelling rich and easy to follow. Aye was charming, witty, and genuinely amusing throughout the walk, bringing the old historical part of Gion to life with fascinating insights and just the right touch of humor. He struck the perfect balance between education and entertainment. As an unforgettable bonus, we were lucky enough to see authentic Geishas, which made the experience feel truly special and rare. This is an absolute must-do tour in Kyoto. If you’re on the fence—don’t be. Aye was that good.

A stroll through the Gion district of Kyoto. - Louis our guide was very knowledgeable, and it was interesting to hear all about the history of the area and Giesha. I would class it more of a stroll than a walk, which was fine for us. Unfortunately didn't get to see a Giesha, but they only come out in the evening.

Oliver gave an unforgettable tour of Gyon - Oliver was an incredible guide! A young Australian who has lived in Kyoto for 2 years and studied Japanese for 10 years, he really knows his stuff. He is knowledgeable about the geisha/meika profession and Japanese culture, and he is happy to take questions. He also adjusted our tour when we came across a street parade of "fire people" who were performing on Feb. 3, the last day of winter. Our tour extended by another 30 minutes as a result and was a highlight of our week in Japan. Without Oliver, we wouldn't have understood Gyon!
