Awesome time with Chie - Donburi Cooking Class and Nishiki Market Tour - We went on the Donburi Cooking Class + Nishiki Market Food Tour today. Our guide and chef, Chie, took us to several unique, historic shops in the market before returning to the cooking studio where she taught us how to prepare Shrimp Tempura and Chicken + Egg Donburi. Chie has a lovely personality and infectious enthusiasm for her craft...we had a wonderful time! Highly recommended!

More than just delicious Japanese cuisine! - My son and I took this tour with Hiro and it was absolutely incredible. It was worth every penny and more. Hiro was able to take us to so many different places that I would have never gone to without her guidance. She shared cultural knowledge that made our expedience richer while learning about so much more than just the authentic Japanese cuisine!
The food was all so delicious and unique. Hiro was also an amazing tour guide being so charismatic, engaging , flexible and funny while answering all of our questions and taking us around downtown Kyoto. I am one that always reads reviews before ever booking an experience. I’m telling you, this adventure is not want you want to miss!

Great morning food tasting at Nishiki Food Market! - Enjoyed my time with our Guide and fellow travellers that I met on this tour. She was efficient, polite and explained in detail about the foods we saw and tasted. Nice tour to enjoy in Kyoto.

Informative and fun! - We had a great guide Mitch. It was a great combination of visiting a local cafe to taste local Kyoto food, followed by the food section of the departmental store and finally the market. These three different sections of the tour gave different food experiences. Our mistake was eating too much for breakfast as the cafe part was quite early on. It was a great way to spend a morning.

Ms - We had a delightful tour with Yuki. Her English was excellent and she had a great knowledge of all the local food products many of which we sampled and enjoyed. We would recommend her to anyone wanting to have an authentic Japanese food experience. The food market was one of the highlights of our trip.

Awesome and fun! - What a night! Our guide Andrea was amazing. He was so funny and very knowledgeable about Japanese culture and area. He took us where locals hangout and we ate and drink. We learned about Gion area and geisha district. It was wonderful night! Highly recommended and Andrea, thank you for a wonderful guide. My son told me it was the best tour so far in Japan.

Super sweet host but not worth it. - Our guide was really lovely and caring. Given this, her English was limited. This tour was not worth the price. Our first visit was to a supermarket that's visited by locals,something I could have googled myself and was not explicitly stated in the tour description. We did not get any historical explanations of what was eaten or the any of the sites we passed. For over $200+ this Was very expensive to visit super markets and buying small items of food along the way. All the foods that were purchased was simply not worth the price. I could have taken the train to the market and ordered the foods on my own.
Again,the tour guide was very generous and nice. We enjoyed her company more.
