awesome class! - My kids, 11 & 13, absolutely loved this class! The instructors teach you the full process for making the weapons, provide an educational background, and make it fun. Plus, you get a super cool souvenir!

Great Activity - This was so much fun. We made a knife and ninja throwing star. This activity is fun for everyone. We had couples, families , and people on a guy's trip in our group. I highly recommend.

A lot of fun plus great instructor - I highly recommend this experience. It is such an authentic experience to make a ninja weapon. The instructor is so nice, easy to talk to and incredibly welcoming. I think anyone would enjoy this class. I would 100% do it again if I had the chance.

Recommend! 5/5 - This experience, while quite far out from Kyoto, is definitely worth it! It is a brilliant experience — the people are great and super funny and helpful but also the blacksmithing is super cool and they’re happy to help you. I’d definitely recommend! I would also recommend to make it the first thing or the last thing to do in the day as it is quite far out though (:

So much more than expected - This was such a fun experience! I did not expect how involved the process would be. The metal is already cut to shape, but honestly this is a good thing as it saves time and there is still so much you get to do (grinding, forging, oxidizing, wrapping, ...). I especially appreciated the japanese history lesson about the etymology of "ninja"," "kunai," and "shuriken." Even my mother who went with said they enjoyed it far more than they expected to!

A bit too superficial but didn’t hate it - First off , the people running it were extremely nice and welcoming. I can’t fault the hospitality at all. Information relayed by the supervisor was also very good. However, Tripadvisor describing this as forging your own ninja artefacts is way off the mark the only thing you really get to have a go at is using a belt sander to attempt sharpening the blade and is the first thing we got to do (quite tricky ) The shaping of the artefacts was already done The forging was a token couple of gos at hammering to give you an idea what you’re supposed to do before quenching. (Unnecessary as the shaping was already. I would have like to have flattened the handle and ring of my lunar before quenching but there wasn’t time) The staff polished it while we got a short lecture (this was good) Then we applied some oxide to darken the Artefact and wrapped the handle and the course was done in about 1 hour 15 mins … not the 2 hrs 30 as relayed on trip advisor Also there’s an extra fee to pay depending on what you want to work on. We do get to take the artefact home and it’s a nice souvenir but ……

Nice - but would have been okay if I missed it. - The guides showed alot of enthusiam for what they were doing which was nice. The ninja stars were precut as it would have taken too long to forge from scratch given the number of hours we had. The course was more about sharpening the weapons and then hammering them a couple times before the experience ended with some history as well. They allowed us to chose what we wanted written on our ninja stars or knives which was a really nice touch. For me it was a take or leave it experience. I enjoyed it but was a bit underwhelmed. Better experienced with friends rather than solo.
