A night like no other, found only in Japan - It was fun to experience Japan's deep culture. The snack bar owner was also a friendly person, and I was happy that they tried so hard to communicate with me.

My First Snack Bar Tour ! I’d Love to Join Again! - This was my very first snack bar experience, and it was absolutely amazing! On the way to the snack bar, our guide shared fascinating stories about the history of Chushojima. I learned so many new things, and before I knew it, we had already arrived at our destination. Walking into the snack bar for the first time was a bit nerve‑wracking, but the moment I stepped inside, I felt completely at ease. The place felt like a “third home” — warm, welcoming, and full of character. The owner, known as “Mama,” was incredibly friendly and made everyone feel welcome. Even as a first‑timer, I quickly felt comfortable. I also had the chance to chat with other customers, sing karaoke together, and truly enjoy the local atmosphere. It was such a fun and memorable experience, and something you wouldn’t normally get from regular sightseeing. I was a little nervous at first, but joining this tour was one of the best decisions I made. I would absolutely love to join this snack tour again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and authentic local experience!

The best local experiene! - It’s perfect for people who truly want a local experience. Instead of feeling like a tourist, you feel as if you’re actually living in the neighborhood. During a trip, visiting local spots can feel intimidating, but thanks to the guide, you can casually walk into a snack bar and enjoy yourself. It really feels like you’re being welcomed by the community. The guide also provided detailed explanations about the area, which was very informative.

Fun tour of snack bars - Really fun tour of a couple of snack bars in Fushimi in Kyoto. We got to chat and sing karaoke with friendly locals while trying several different alcoholic drinks. Our tour guide was friendly and helpful. It’s a great way to experience Japanese culture - I highly recommend .

Proper local experience! We loved it!! - This was such a fun experience! I definitely wouldn't be able to feel as much as a local here if it wasn't for this tour! We went to snack bars and got to sing karaoke and speak with the locals! Coming here as a tourist, it's so easy to only go to where all other tourists go. But here, it was a small place where the locals go to drink, and it was such a nice way to get to speak with the locals and experience the real japanese bar culture up close! And the guide, such a sweet guy! Very informative and helped out with anything like ordering drinks you like and understad what the locals said and we had such a fun time with him in the bars also! I can't recommend this tour enough, it was worth every penny to get the most out of our trip! Thank you for a wonderful night out!

Fun and unique experience - This was a unique tour. There are lots of good and bar hopping tours in Japan, but going to a snack bar is a unique experience. This tour isn’t for everyone. Snacks are a a type of bar in Japan that is very local and personal. It’s operated by a mama who is usually an auntie around 60 years old. It’s her private bar that she operates. It’s a place where local people can go and relax, drink, sing karaoke and chat. There’s no food (just small snacks like peanuts). You can sing karaoke and drink and chat with local people. It’s usually for people over 40 years old, but everyone is welcome. Smoking is allowed so be prepared. The bars are very small and you have to talk to everyone haha. It’s fun, but a unique experience
