Over the last ten years, more than 8,000 guests have been warmly welcomed to the tea ceremony class, where participants are guided through the intricate and meaningful art of preparing and savoring matcha. It is a privilege to share this deeply rooted aspect of Japan’s culture with visitors from around the globe.
The tea ceremony is deeply embedded in Kyoto’s traditions, where the art of tea has thrived for centuries. Each movement in the ceremony, from the preparation of the tea to its thoughtful serving, embodies respect for nature, beauty, and harmony.
In the tea ceremony class, only the finest matcha is used, sourced from a historic tea farm in Uji, Kyoto. Uji is famous for producing some of Japan’s finest matcha, known for its rich umami flavor, vibrant green color, and smooth texture. The matcha used in the classes is an original blend, carefully chosen for its quality and taste. Despite the nationwide matcha shortage in Japan, a stable supply is always ensured for the classes, allowing participants to enjoy an authentic, high-quality experience with confidence.
