A great experience and break from crowded touristy areas, and we are excited to use our spoons! - A memorable way to spend the afternoon! The couple hosting the workshop was so friendly. They welcomed us with tea and snacks. The language barrier was not a problem, they had English instructions prepared and were patient in demonstrating each step. I was happy that they checked our spoons thoroughly before we would proceed to the next step, as they want to make sure you leave with a good spoon! They had more of their original metalwork handicrafts on display as well and it was extremely impressive. Overall, we had fun and the afternoon flew by. Would highly recommend, quite possibly our favorite Kyoto activity!

Well worth the money, I definitely recommend for any travelers heading to Kyoto! - This workshop was well worth the money! They are so friendly and welcome you into their workshop like family, I was given tea and snacks while they showed me how to perform the art of silver smithing with the spoon. They even give you a copper spoon to practice on at the beginning I was able to keep as well. The couple that runs this workshop is extremely skilled in fine metal working, they showed me some of the small intricate pieces they create and I was amazed at their craftsmanship. Ask them to show you what else they make! Well worth the money, I definitely recommend! Thank you again! :)
