Wonderful La Fortuna tour!! - Highly recommend the hanging bridges, waterfall, Arenal volcano, and hot springs all day tour! We had a large group of 18 people traveling together, ages 40s to 10. Guides Rasta and Melanie and driver Baldomore were awesome! Very knowledgeable of the history and animals! We saw a sloth, monkeys, frogs, snakes, and so many birds! Jam packed day but we never felt rushed. If you are wanting to see the key sites in La Fortuna, this is a great tour to take!!

Major sites in La Fortuna - We had a fantastic day with Red Lava tours yesterday. Chris MQ was a fabulous guide. His ability to spot wildlife was incredible. We saw many types of birds, tarantulas, monkeys, and sloths. Staff made certain we were comfortable and responded quickly when our bus blew a tire. A long but fun day.

The perfect full day tour! - This tour was great! Our guide was amazing and very knowledgeable about the plants and wildlife. It was a full day with lots of stops which was perfect for us. We had sufficient time at each stop and loved that we were able to experience so much in one day! The hanging bridges were our favorite!

Amazing tour - This is so far the best trip we’ve done. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. My whole family loves it (2 adults and 3 teenage girls). We had plenty of time and never felt rushed. Our guide Chris MQ was amazing and made the tour that much better. He even made sure we all got pictures of everything we wanted. We saw so much and even learned alot of new things thanks to him. Our driver William was also wonderful. If you’re near the area this is a must do

Worth it, must do- great guide - Our guide (Jacob) has a passion for what he does. He got so excited for each of us to see the wildlife he spotted. You don’t need a guide to do the hanging bridges- but we felt this was the best way to go for sure after our experience. We would have missed spotting ALL the wildlife. Jacob said it doesn’t always happen this way- but he spotted a sloth, an eyelash pit viper (which is TINY), many monkeys, a tree frog, some red poison frogs, spiders, birds GREAT guide. He was mindful of the needs of all participants. This is the perfect excursion for people who want to explore many spots in one day. It is not for hardcore adventure junkies. But for most of us- it is awesome and the perfect amount of adventure. I would say my children (11 and under) would not have lasted the day. It is exhausting. But not too strenuous. Some of the hiking is very steep but not dangerous. Just exhausting. Hot springs were meh. I could have done without them. Basically a waterpark. But lunch was so good- authentic. I would do this all over again!

A must do experience in Arenal Volcano - We had a great time on this full day excursion! After a short mix up with pick ups and timings the travel company went above and beyond to make sure we caught up with the group at the first location. Chino our guide was great he pointed out lots of wildlife whilst walking the Hanging Bridges and around the Arenal Volcano. Swimming under the waterfall was fun although the fast currents made it a little challenging. The drink in the spa at the end was the perfect way to rest tired legs after a lot of walking.

Great Full Day To See The Fortuna Sites - We had a good day with Juan and Chris as the guides. It is a very full day but you get to many spots and cover a lot of ground in La Fortuna. The hanging bridges at Mistico are a great experience. Saw some interesting wildlife that we never would have spotted without a guide. Trekking through the reserve up to see the Volcano had some challenging parts with it being a significant up hill walk and much of it was over uneven ground. The view was covered in low cloud but it was still majestic to see. The walk to Fortuna waterfall was alot of steps but they were well constructed and very even. The water was running very high making it too rough so unfortunately no swimming that day. And the final stop at the thermal spring was a little overwhelming given the massive numbers of people in the pools. It was fun but really overcrowded. Chris was a great guide and very passionate about the rainforest and his country overall. He was super knowledgeable and excited to show us all the beautiful places. We did feel that our group was too large. There were about 20 of us but they split the group into Spanish and English speaking. That ended up with only about 6 people in the Spanish group and left the other group to be too large when we were doing the hanging bridges as you couldn't get close enough to hear when we had so many people. We also think that there should have been a better explanation of what kind of shoes to wear. It only says comfortable shoes - not that you can't have open toed shoes for the bridges or that you need a good walking shoe to tackle the hike at the volcano since it is over large lava rock. But we enjoyed the day and would recommend it if you want to cover the major sites in one day.
