La Fortuna de San Carlos - The journey kicks off at the private farm La Naciente, located just a few minutes from downtown La Fortuna. Participants will embark on muddy trails through the primary rainforest, all while taking in the stunning views of the magnificent Arenal Volcano.
The adventure begins with a safety briefing and a practice circuit to ensure comfort with the ATVs. Following this, the group ventures onto the thrilling trails of La Naciente, navigating challenging paths surrounded by lush vegetation and local wildlife. Along the route, there is a stop at Quebrada Platanillo, a micro-basin of the Arenal River that provides water to nearby communities. This spot is also known for the impressive Watusi bulls, recognized for their unique horns.
The journey continues along open trails, crossing natural puddles, until reaching Rancho La Poza for a snack and some relaxation in its outdoor pool.

The journey kicks off at the exclusive La Naciente farm, just a short distance from the heart of La Fortuna. Adventurers will traverse muddy paths through the pristine rainforest, all while taking in the stunning vistas of the magnificent Arenal Volcano.
The excursion begins with a safety briefing and a practice session to ensure everyone is comfortable with the ATVs. Participants then embark on the thrilling trails of La Naciente, navigating through challenging routes surrounded by lush greenery and local wildlife. A stop is made at Quebrada Platanillo, a micro-basin of the Arenal River that provides water to nearby communities, and is also home to the remarkable Watusi bulls, known for their unique horns.
The adventure continues along open trails, crossing natural puddles, until reaching Rancho La Poza for a snack and some relaxation in its outdoor pool.
- The minimum age to drive an ATV is 14. Children under 14 must ride as passengers in a double ATV with an adult.
- Regular rain in La Fortuna is not a reason to cancel the tour, as it is part of the tropical rainforest experience.
- In case of thunderstorms, we will wait up to 30 minutes after the scheduled tour time, since they usually last between 15 and 30 minutes. If conditions do not improve after this period, the activity will be modified or canceled.
- We kindly ask you to arrive at the scheduled time. We can wait up to 5 minutes, and after that, the reservation will be marked as a no-show and the full amount will apply.
- It is required to wear closed shoes.
- We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and bringing a change of clothes if needed.
- To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, we include a short practice ride before the tour. If a participant is not able to drive safely, they can still enjoy the experience as a passenger within their group. Please note that the reservation secures the ATV space, so refunds do not apply if it is not used as a driver.

Super fun & exciting!! - I had a great time during this activity. Andrés was so friendly and helpful throughout the experience. I had so much fun riding through the mud, seeing animals and even enjoyed fruit throughout this experience. I wanted to do it again & highly recommend!

Best ATV Tour - If you want to get off the beaten path in La Fortuna, this is the tour to do! The Original Arenal ATV Tour was pure adrenaline. We went through muddy trails, river crossings, and cow pastures with the volcano looming over us the entire time.
​The guides were fantastic—they kept us safe but also let us have a blast on the more rugged sections. They also took the time to stop at incredible lookout points to take photos of us with the volcano in the background. The ATVs were in great condition and very powerful. Be prepared to get dirty! This was easily the best way to see the 'real' Costa Rica countryside. Thank you Andres and the team!:)

Great activity just outside Fortuna town - Had perfect weather during rainy season but trails were muddy (made the ride much more fun). Our guide Andres was welcoming, provided a safety briefing, and an overview of what we would experience on the trails. Stopped at a local home halfway through for fresh pineapple, water, and cookies. Great scenery and views of Volcan de Arenal, the forest, and rivers for the entire journey. The huge bulls/cows in a pasture along the way were also interesting. Prepare to get wet and muddy as the excursion takes you through several (shallow) streams along the way. Excellent value and well worth our time - highly recommended.

Great experience through rivers and mud trails, 14 year old allowed to drive their own - We liked this experience so much that we did it twice! The first time with my wife and 3 kids (ages 14 - 9). We had Randall as a guide both times and he was great! Very knowledgeable and patient when teaching us how to use the ATV. The trails through the rivers and mud were really fun! On our second run, it rained on us for most of the experience, which made it even more fun. This was the only ATV operator we found that would let our 14 year old drive, so that made it that much better, he was very happy to drive his own.

Awesome ATV experience with our kids! Ask for Randall! - We booked this experience through the property Arenal Observatory. We had our children age 6 and 12 with us and we each had one on our ATV. Randall, our guide was there to pick us up and give us some knowledge of what to expect on our ride over to the location. Randall was great! He made my daughter and I feel so comfortable. It was my first time on an ATV and he allowed me time to practice before the tour began. He had a pink helmet for my daughter and that made her so happy. My son and husband got lots of action going fast and hitting the mudd! We stopped for a mini facial a long the way. Later we stopped at a beautiful stream where we were provided the most delicious pineapple that Randall cut up for us, some snacks, and water. Then we ventured off again, as there was more to this incredible tour. I would def book with Randall again. He took pictures of my family and provided them at the end for us. We felt so safe as a family, and had the best time! My kids were thrilled with the experience and I was so happy that we were able to enjoy this thrilling experience with no concern as we were so well taken care of! What more could a parent ask for?!

Awesome time! - We went on the tour with Yafe (I'm butchering his name). He was VERY informative, maintain conversation with us, watched over us and made sure we were safe at every turn. Felt like going with a close friend. He was funny and extremely patient. The views were impressive. They even stopped on the road while picking us up from hotel to show us a sloth in a tree. Great company. Don't hesitate to use them.

Favorite Activity - My husband and I did the ATV tour with Randoll and the three of us had a great time. He was very accommodating to stopping and taking pictures with us and for us along the adventure. The views are awesome and we learned a lot about the local community along the way. We drove through a small town, visiting the authentic grocery store and even stopped in to visit Erma in her home where we were able to see how she lives. She offered home cooked food made from scratch with the resources of her land and fresh squeeze lemonade. It was a remarkable experience. It was the last day of vacation and I explained to Randoll I still had not seen a sloth or a Tucan during my stay. He managed to find a Sloth with her baby and Tucans on two separate occassions. Spending these experiences with him made him part of our adventure and feel like family. I cannot recommend this experience any more.
