The day starts with a picturesque drive from La Fortuna to the lush rainforest location. Following a safety briefing, the adventure begins:
- Rappel down a 32-meter (104 ft) waterfall into a natural pool.
- Experience a second rappel of 15 meters (49 ft) through the forest canopy.

BEST DAY EVER! - MOST EPIC DAY! Pure Trek and Rainforest Falls are INCREDIBLE companies. Organized, on time, great communication, super safe and a fantastic team of guides, drivers, cooks, and other staff. We choose the full day of Rainforest Falls & Pure Trek Canyoning combo tour. The repelling and waterfall jumps were really spectacular. We were picked up at our hotel by our guide in a nice transport van. Some of our favorite team members were Alberto, Maurice, Nelson and our wonderful photographer Alejandro. When Alberto and our really nice driver (sad I can't remember his name but he loves coffee and found TWO SLOTHS for us, right on the side of the road.) As soon as I told Alberto, I really wanted to see sloths, he hopped on his phone and started calling around, found them and we stopped on the way. SO GREAT! Another woman with us wanted to see Toucans and they found those too! Nicest and coolest guys. The safety checks and organization was on point. Sturdy, super nice platforms, rope railings along the path, gravel poured on the paths to keep guests from slipping. There are SO many guides helping, checking ropes, leading, educating. Rainforest Falls and Pure Trek have beautiful facilities. Nice outdoor showers, lockers for your things, clean, updated restrooms. We had SUCH an incredible time and highly recommend these companies and tours. Pura Vida!

Best combo tour! High adrenaline, friendly staff, lots of animals! - If you like adventure and adrenaline, the canyoning + rainforest falls combo is for you! After canyoning, I was ready for more and the rainforest falls delivered! The guides have up to 20 years of experience so they make it feel safe to try new things…like jumping 30 ft into a river! This was a highlight of my trip and an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. The guides were funny, friendly, and very helpful. The lunch they made for us was delicious, actually my favorite meal I have had so far on my trip, and they worked with our dietary restrictions. I was full the rest of the day from lunch. On the trail to the rappels and jumps, we saw lots of frogs, butterflies, leaf cutter ants, and birds. On the drive to the falls, we told the guide we wanted to see animals when we were here in Costa Rica and they stopped the car and showed us a mama and baby sloth on the side of the road in a tree! That absolutely made my day.
This combo is perfect because you get to practice canyoning (which I fell in love with) on the first tour and just when you think you actually want to do it again, you get to the second tour and you get to do some more rappels PLUS jumping into the river!! For me, the jumps on the rainforest falls tour were more fun and adrenaline pumping than the monkey drop or canyon rappelling on the first tour. It was my first time ever jumping off a cliff into water, and I got to do it many times in a safe fun environment. And my worst fear happened, my foot slipped on the platform and I went over the edge before I was ready, but all that happened was I landed in the water weird. They asked me if I was okay and than we all just laughed about it and I told them they can put me on the poster. Pura Vida!
It’s very well planned out, and a very smooth operation. The flow of the tour and levels of canyoning you do are great for beginners, even kids, they give you enough time to catch your breath and also see more of the jungle and a part of Costa Rica most people don’t get to see! You don’t have to bring anything because they have water, food, towels, locker rooms, and they take photos and videos for you.

Very fun and friendly guides - This was a fun tour and had some big drops. The guides were kind and very approachable. It sounds like they normally do bigger tours but we got lucky and had a small group so got to interact with the guides a lot.

Epic day in La Fortuna - This adventure is a MUST DO!!! You will not be disappointed. Totally worth it. It was easy and extremely fun. We even got lucky and saw a sloth, up close. The lunch is delicious. The guides are super friendly and very professional. The customer service is excellent. Just do it!!! You will not regret it.

The Ultimate Adventure - Get ready for the best adventure. My husband and I had the best time with Mau and his team from Pure Trek. Our adventure included rappelling, hiking, cliff jumping and ended with a beautiful lunch. The photographer got great action shots of us during the activity. If you are looking for thrill, this is the adventure for you!

Family fun with our adult children. - Their expert guides made us feel very safe while showing our family lots of fun. Not everyone was comfortable with some of the jumps and they didn’t pressure them. The facilities are nice and well maintained. Alberto, Mauricio and Isa (and the rest of the crew) were great!

The BEST Tour in Costa Rica! - Pure Trek is a 5⭐️ experience — one of the best days I’ve had on a vacation. This is an incredible operation with wonderful guides who made us feel safe the entire time. The Rainforest Falls tour in the morning was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Starting off with a 170-foot waterfall rappel in a private nature reserve (among the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen), this tour had everything: the best guides, the feeling of a private tour with real personal attention, major adrenaline rushes from multiple jumps into a gorgeous river, beautiful waterfalls, and unspoiled wilderness. Our guides made me feel safe and cared for, allowing me to push myself to do things I never thought I could do (I have a pretty strong fear of heights, but by the end of the trip was jumping off a 10-meter platform into the river).
Back at the Pure Trek HQ, we were treated to a delicious lunch. The “base camp” is clean, with lockers, showers, bathrooms, towels, and super yummy hot coffee (definitely a highlight for this coffee lover).
In the afternoon, we did the Pure Trek Canyoning experience. This is a more family-friendly, all ages tour. Lots of little kids, so if you’re looking for something fun to do with your kids, this is a great choice! This tour had more rappels than the Rainforest Falls, and also had the “Monkey Drop”. We really enjoyed this tour, but preferred the more intimate Rainforest Falls experience.
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Pure Trek — some of the nicest people I’ve met in Costa Rica, a well-organized and super professional operation, and the most fun you’ll have on your vacation!
And definitely buy the photos—the photographers are great, the photo package is a super bargain (it includes some video, too).

The best day of our whole vacation - This was the absolute best day of our whole Costa Rica vacation. My teenage boys and whole family loved the adventures! Canyoneering through the rainforest, 6 waterfall repels, 4 waterfall jumps, you just can't top something like this. The company is extremely safe, super friendly and very well organized and managed. The photos/video are priceless and I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the La Fortuna area.

Fun but some disappointment - My family of four (two adults and a 15 and 11 year old) did a rappelling and cliff jumping tour. The guides were friendly and helpful and the tour was well organized and efficiently run. The rappelling and jumping was fun! But there were only two rappels on the tour - one longer one and a shorter one. There were three cliff jumps - one 30 feet and two smaller ones. These activities were certainly fun but it’s a lot of time and effort (both the long drive and the hiking) for that little of a reward. Also, the photography was surprisingly terrible. Poor quality photos. No photos of the jumps. And virtually all of the videos were shot sideways so they’re useless. The photography was extra (reasonably priced at $35) but it was a big disappointment!
