Stephen- excellent guide! - Brilliant! Stephen was an excellent guide- knowledgeable, patient and friendly. He shared his enthusiasm and wider than the sloths- bird watching on days off so we learnt and saw a lot. We were a bit sceptical about the park but it was awesome- the sloths are in their natural habitat and undisturbed. They're very difficult to spot without a guide so we're glad we did this. The tour was a good pace and we spent lots of time at each sighting. Stephen was great as we asked lots of questions. You can park outside, its close to the town and they take card payment so all easy and accessible. We were chuffed as we saw a very busy sloth too!

We saw sloths! - Very enjoyable tour! Saw so much wildlife and flora. We saw 4 sloths and even their faces up close in the telescope. The guide took excellent photos with our own phones. Saw lizards and snakes and birds and much plant life. Made sugar cane juice and our own tortillas.

Animal-infested park - The Sloth Park is located west of La Fortuna, and is in walking distance of all the restaurants in the centre of the town. I don’t know our tour guide’s name but he spoke English pretty well and could spot sloths very easily. We also saw a boa constrictor, some owls, and a poison frog. *I highly recommend to get a guide for the tour as you will find it very difficult to find any animals without a guide.* Most of the bad reviews here are complaining that they couldn’t find anything without a guide, and that it was a waste of money, if you have a guide, you’ll enjoy the experience much more. It was a 90minute trip around the park. If you are struggling to find sloths around the area, and really want to spot some, I recommend this place. On the downside, it isn’t the most exciting of activities. But it is good if you want to see sloths.

Very good saw 5 sloths plus 2 babies.Couldn’t see their faces but luck of draw if able to see them moving ! - Verygood - i really have no idea how our tour guide can see the secret creatures living high in the trees. We managed to see at least 5 sloths plus 2 mums with babies. Was wonderful experience and all sloths in their natural environment. Our guide helped us take photo’s using the telescopic and was very patient and kind

Nice experience, good guide - Booked night sloth trail, but got told as soon as we got there that there were “no guarantees”. A night walk is probably not the best way to spot sloths, but we did, with the aid of a very experienced guide who had seen them during the day. Using the binocular you could see perfectly, but just not to the naked eye, as sloths tend to climb up really high. We also saw very interesting creatures, mainly frogs, toads and amazingly, a couple of very fast armadillos!

Not great - Our tour was supposed to be 1.5hrs but our guide only took us for 1hr. He said, 'you have seen a sloth move, so as far as I am concerned the tour is over'. This activity is not very good value for money in our opinion.

Dishonest operator - Poor communication and dishonest operator. The sloth tour was good however, we were supposed to have a cooking class and drinks included but this was not the case. We paid 250$ and the sloth tour was only 84$. Book directly with vendor not 3rd party operator.
