Sloth tour La Fortuna - We visited on 12th sept at 3pm with a small group of 7 people, the guide Jonny was very knowledgeable and allowed me to use his binoculars. He helped us with videos and photos of the sloths through the telescope and gave us good knowledge of sloths and other wildlife seen. I would thoroughly recommend this tour when in La Fortuna.

Great couple of tours and really good service - We visited for the night tour and daytime sloth tour. Initially there was a mix up with the bus but they responded brilliantly by offering a free night tour as well as another sloth tour the day after.
Both tours were great. On the night tour we saw lots of frogs, lizards, insects, a giant caterpillar, spiders and even a couple of sloths - including a baby- moving round.
During the sloth tour we saw a family of armadillos and 6 or 7 sloths. Randy was fantastic at spotting sloths and making sure we saw them through his scope and really knew his stuff - he was so enthusiastic it really made the tour. We saw the same baby sloth moving about and a mum and baby 2 toed sloth also moving round.

Memorable and informative tour - This was our final stop after a couple days in La Fortuna and it did NOT disappoint. Our guide was Adonay, and he was simply amazing at spotting creatures for us. The highlight for us was getting to witness a mama sloth and her baby come down out of the treetops to use the bathroom (which he informed us only happens once every 5 days or so). In addition, Adonay pointed out two different species of poisonous tree frogs, an iguana, a pair of toucans, a family of 4 baby armadillos, and another 3-4 sloths, which we viewed through his telescope (as they were resting higher up in the tree canopy). Adonay’s English was very good and his knowledge about the animals and landscape was vast. As a bonus, he even harvested a small sugar cane and offered it to us to chew/taste. Very good tour!

Stephen- excellent guide! - Brilliant! Stephen was an excellent guide- knowledgeable, patient and friendly. He shared his enthusiasm and wider than the sloths- bird watching on days off so we learnt and saw a lot. We were a bit sceptical about the park but it was awesome- the sloths are in their natural habitat and undisturbed. They're very difficult to spot without a guide so we're glad we did this. The tour was a good pace and we spent lots of time at each sighting. Stephen was great as we asked lots of questions. You can park outside, its close to the town and they take card payment so all easy and accessible. We were chuffed as we saw a very busy sloth too!

We saw sloths! - Very enjoyable tour! Saw so much wildlife and flora. We saw 4 sloths and even their faces up close in the telescope. The guide took excellent photos with our own phones. Saw lizards and snakes and birds and much plant life. Made sugar cane juice and our own tortillas.

Animal-infested park - The Sloth Park is located west of La Fortuna, and is in walking distance of all the restaurants in the centre of the town. I don’t know our tour guide’s name but he spoke English pretty well and could spot sloths very easily. We also saw a boa constrictor, some owls, and a poison frog. *I highly recommend to get a guide for the tour as you will find it very difficult to find any animals without a guide.* Most of the bad reviews here are complaining that they couldn’t find anything without a guide, and that it was a waste of money, if you have a guide, you’ll enjoy the experience much more. It was a 90minute trip around the park. If you are struggling to find sloths around the area, and really want to spot some, I recommend this place. On the downside, it isn’t the most exciting of activities. But it is good if you want to see sloths.

Not great - Our tour was supposed to be 1.5hrs but our guide only took us for 1hr. He said, 'you have seen a sloth move, so as far as I am concerned the tour is over'.
This activity is not very good value for money in our opinion.

I’d avoid this tour - Terrible. Two tours, either with or without a guide. Without a guide ($20 each) you will nothing, just walk around a poorly mapped trail. With a guide ($50 each). They have occasional signs on their trails, but don’t show you where you are at. With a guide you barely see any sloths because they are so high up in the trees, you need binoculars. And they charge you a fee for using a credit card. Not recommended.
