Kayaking to the mangroves - Enjoyed our trip! Tona was our guide, he was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Would recommend doing the kayaking trip during high tide when possible.

Delightful paddling tour - Guide Tona was very good. We paddled safely across a busy boating lane to a nearby island, where we paddled into dense mangrove trees and took lots of photos of birds and ourselves. Paddling back was tougher as headwind had picked up; thankfully Tona towed me to make better speed across the boating lane. Overall it was a very good trip.

Awesome! - The meetup place is easy to find, right on the Malecon. The whole experience was smooth and enjoyable. We were accompanied by 3 other guides. The guides were attentive and helpful throughout the tour.

A fantastic dawn! - We were going to do the activity the day before, but because of the weather (lots of air) we could not. So Tona and Diana offered to go early the next morning to see the sunrise. And it was fantastic, even a small group of dolphins joined us. Great! Recommended 5 STARS

Nice Tour with Tona - Very nice guide, Tona. Explained the different types of mangroves, looked out for dolphins, but we were not lucky today. Saw plenty of pelikans diving and other birds.

Great experienc in La Paz - La Paz Mexico is well worth the trip. The town is clean and the people are nice. Also La Paz is very inexpensive. Great bang for your buck. We celebrated our 50th wedding aniversary with Red Snapper and Shrimp dinners with drinks.....$40 US including the tip. We stayed at the Seven Crown Malecon hotel which was worth the money. Clean neat, great staff and a class restaurant. La Paz isn't totally a tourist town. It is a commerce center with the big box stores, i.e., Sam's, Walmart and Home Depot. Plus the Mexican big supermarkets. Stop in at the local mom and pop stores and restaurants for neat atmospheres. In addition La Paz has some top notch medical facilities. La Paz has 5 universities with majors in marine biology. So that waiter may be a marine biology student. La Paz is a thriving community and it is gorgeous. Try some restaurants off the beaten path. We were not dissappointed. Walk the Malecon, go see the gray whales and tour the cathederal area. The bad thing about La Paz is it is so hard to get to. 1 1/2 hour drive from the Los Cabos Del Sol airport. Although La Paz has its own airport it is a hassle to get there I will go back. Nice paddle, not for beginners - I met with the guide Tano (?) on the malecon. There were two other people on the trip, a pair who used a tandem kayak. All three were fluently bilingual (primary Spanish, spoke excellent English). Sadly I know only rudimentary Spanish. On the paddle through the bay, I was generally pulling up the rear. The paddle was moderately difficult, fighting tide, current, and winds. The were also moderate waves of 2 feet or so. Not a paddle for someone not used to kayaking, not comfortable with waves/wakes, or unfit. During the entire paddle over to the mangroves, which took about 45 minutes (would've been faster if I had paddled faster), Tano spent the entire time with the tandem speaking Spanish. He did frequently check to ensure that I was OK, but I was not able to follow any of the conversation. After reaching the mangroves, we spent only about 10 minutes in them. Tano only mentioned the types of mangroves there. No information about the biome. I had to ask questions to elicit anything about flora and fauna, etc. After leaving the mangroves, we stopped at a beach for 10-15 minutes, where Tano provided bottler water, Gatorade, and fruit. We left and returned across the bay, which only took about 15 minutes as we were now being assisted by the same elements we paddled against on the way out. Overall, a nice paddle in Old Town true kayaks (not sit-on-tops). But not the exploration of nature that I thought I was getting based on the description. I was also not happy that again, although Tano was attentive and safety-minded, I was completely excluded from almost all conversation.
