Incredible Experience – A Must-Do in Bolivia! - The Death Road bike tour was absolutely unforgettable. Stunning views, top-notch guides (Eloy & Isra), and a thrilling ride from mountains to jungle. Everything felt safe and well-organized, with great bikes and plenty of photo stops. One of the best adventures I’ve ever done – 100% recommend!

Adrenaline filled day :) - Really fun experience. Our guide Eloy was great. You get issued all safety gear. Very important to bring bug spray I used jungle formula which works well. Sunglasses also needed. Warm clothes for the start but you will Soon start stripping off as it gets hot. It’s not strenuous as it’s mainly down hill At speed.

Go With Gandalf! - An incredible experience! Our guide, Gandalf (and yes, that’s his real name haha) was amazing. My wife and I both felt very safe on Death Road with him. He was considerate of the pace and took a good amount of breaks to make sure the whole ride was as comfortable as possible. He also made sure to stop for plenty of photos and videos! He’s highly deserving of the great ratings on here, and is a great guide if you’re looking to do Death Road.

Good trip but please get vehicles with seatbelts! - The actual Death Road part of the tour was great. An amazing experience and our guide, Eloy, was great. He explained everything very clearly and made sure we were safe the whole time. The part after where you go to a hotel pool was kind of random and to be honest we would’ve preferred to just head back to La Paz and miss the traffic (it took us 4.5 hours to get back). It felt like they were trying to unnecessarily prolong the day. The main reason it’s not a five star for us is that the vehicle they transported us with had no seatbelts, which we thought was incredibly ironic given that you’re going on a trip to the ‘most dangerous road in the world’. Even the new road is still dangerous and there were very sketchy points driving back in total fog - please invest in vehicles with seatbelts and do not put people’s lives in danger!!!

You get what you pay for! - The difficulty of this "death" tour is not extraordinary. The views are probably great-- we had a bad weather day. The experience itself is a bit underwhelming. here were my MAJOR issues with it: - if you don't live in the central neighborhood, no pickup for you. The experience starts early at 6AM, so you have to find a taxi to drop you off at the "meetup point". - the gears: gloves and helmet REEKED of sweat. Lord knows what year they were washed before we used. It really was BAD! And you just could not ignore or forget it. - the bike: did not have rear suspension. and the seats did not have any cushion or foam-- meaning after all the offroading, it is a pain to sit down. - Gandalf, the guide was smoking like a chimney. At some point his eyes were so red; I was genuinely concerned about finishing safe, as we were promised we would celebrate by "having beer". - the buffet lunch did not seem like a legitimate partnership: you could have everything but no second helping allowed. When confronted about several of these issues, we were told "you get what you pay for". I get that there were experiences by other companies for a much higher price range. But humbly and honestly, I do not think we got worth what we paid for. Now, onto the good bit: -Gandalf the guide is knowledgeable, he will gesture all the hand symbols and keep you alerted (at least for the part that he did, he did well.) - He takes care of pictures and videos. Even though his phone quality may not be the best-- he knows the spots and the angles. For all the insta girlies out there, you can trust him with your phone. - The drop off is in the evening around 4-5 pm at the city center, so you can have a good stroll and see the nightlife of the city center. - You are offered flavored-maracuya coca leaf to combat altitude sickness if you are into that. - You can have a lovely time at the pool, if your cotravelers agree on the amount of time you spend there. I don't know why you would swim after the food though.
