Incredible Bolivia Adventure - We recently completed a 4-day tour with JOKER EXPEDITIONS, and overall, they met our expectations with a well-organized and seamless experience. Day 1 included a guided city tour of La Paz, which was a great introduction to the city's culture and history. The guide was informative, and we enjoyed exploring the highlights. Days 2-4 took us through the breathtaking Uyuni Salt Flats, stunning lagoons, and the National Park, covering all the must-see sights. While the itinerary itself was fantastic, what truly made this trip exceptional was our guide, Julia. She and her driver went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience—whether it was finding the perfect scenic vantages, helping us capture creative and unforgettable photos, or sharing insightful knowledge about the region. Julia’s enthusiasm and expertise turned an already amazing trip into something truly special. If you're booking with JOKER EXPEDITIONS, I highly recommend requesting Julia as your guide. She made all the difference in making this a memorable adventure. I would absolutely recommend Joker Expeditions to anyone visiting Bolivia.

Once in a lifetime experience - We booked this tour via Jokers Expedition which is then conducted by Salty Desert Adventures. The pre -post support provided by Jokers Expedition was excellent. This covers transfers to/from hotel to bus station n hotel room in Uyuni to shower on arrival/departure from Uyuni town to the Salt Flats. Our tour of the Uyuni Salt Flats was led by Ezequiel. He was a good coordinator n very knowledgeable of the terrain, flora & fauna, animals n birds and tried his best to a large group of 16 tourists spread over 4 vehicles. Our driver Jose is also excellent- very safe n tried with his limited English to highlight certain key features of the terrain. His music selection in the vehicle was upbeat n enjoyable. Key highlights of the trip was the photo taking sessions, surprise wine n snacks stop to see the sun set n getting close to the animals that lived in the flats. Food is kept simple but sufficient. Depending on the package, accommodation ranges from sleeping bags, shared bedroom/bath/toilets or private rooms with en-suite. The package from Jokers Expeditions came with private en-suite rooms. Be prepared for long drives, limited toilets facilities and varying weather between hot to windy chilly conditions. Our guide always ensured we r briefed on this the night before so u can prepare ahead. Overall a once in lifetime experience that one should not missed. We made new friends in the same vehicle we traveled in which is also great.

Get closer to the sun but don’t forget toilet paper. - This tour is a must but there are somethings you have to know before you go. Listed below are some of them. 1. Do not do this tour right off the plane or bus. The altitude is no joke. Give yourself a few days in it to acclimate. 2. If you don’t like rustic conditions this is not for you. The sleeping arrangements are basic and you will go one night without a shower. Which the tour operators won’t tell you. Also bring a towel and extra toilet paper. 3. The sights are simply spectacular! One of the most unique environments on the planet. Our tour guide Beymare was excellent! Knew all the ins and out of the area and we were often first to see the sights. 4. Getting here is not easy. An overnight bus ride is what it takes but the buses are extremely comfortable. But the bathrooms have a strict no poop policy on board. Eat lightly. 5. The sun is no joke. Sunscreen if you don’t like a tan or being burned. 6. It is remote so while I suggest packing as light as you can make sure you have some medicines on you. 7. The car is a Toyota Land Cruiser and the tour outfits will pack them. The backseat is not comfortable at all. We rotated through to be fair to everyone but your knees and back will be sore. Pro tip- if you’re going to Chile at the end and not back to Uni, choose to sit in the back the 3rd day. 8. Most bathrooms you have to pay for so bring change. The last place we stayed at had nice rooms but public toilets that were disgusting with poop and vomit, at least in the men’s bathroom. The private rooms have bathrooms but for some reason they won’t let you use them. I imagine there is a fee. My suggestion is carry a metal credit card or small knife. You can’t take the hint. 9. In spite of all of this you have to see this area. The guide makes it breaks this tour and it seems all of them know what to do. So you will be good to go.

An unforgettable experience - Our visit to South America was wonderful, but this was the most wonderful place on our visit, the Uyuni salt flat. We planned a complete visit to the salt flats, with a reliable company Joker Expedition, and we do not regret having chosen it. We had a friendly guide, who helped us with the funny photos and told us all the history of this beautiful place. The Uyuni salt flat is very beautiful, we slept in a salt hotel, we had a private car and the food on the tour is very tasty. My travel friend was a bit sick with altitude sickness, but this was also fixed by Joker. They are very professional in their work.

Joker Expeditions was great! - The tour was incredible and well organised. It was a very memorable experience, beautiful landscapes, good outdoor lunches, great tour guides. Special mention to Jose, the manager of Joker expeditions, who was incredibly helpful. We lost our luggages in La Paz and they managed to get it back for us at 4am while we were touring in Uyuni. Highly recommend them.

Uyunni salt lake - It was a unique experience and beautiful scenery. We were not rushed and had adequate time for relaxation. The restaurants for lunch were very good and very helpful and friendly guides and driver . At the second night stay , it was cold and windy, it would have been nice to have some hot water for freshening and heater in the rooms . Last day we returned to hotel and were dropped in bus station but no dinner was provided and there were no restaurants nearby or food available and we went hungry. The fun trick pictures in uyunni salt lake were a huge hit and we enjoyed doing them

After my opinion really terrible! - Normally I don't leave a review so quickly but still felt compelled to give others a better picture on this tour. The views are beautiful that's not what it's about. But about the tour itself.. how terrible! Where you get thumped in a group with 40 other people, 1 guide who doesn’t even wait for her to say something. You're not kept informed, you're not told. Communication is so bad and disorderly, I've never experienced this. We were only allowed to take 1 small bag on day 2, this was not told us. The guide rolled her eyes when I asked. It was really ridiculous. Suddenly we're going to 5,000 meters? And were not allowed to bring our bags so did not think about extra warm clothing at all. (Since it was not so cold the day before so have not thought of that). No swimwear for the hot springs, out of the rush I even forgot my toiletry bag. No one informs you so you can pack your bag prepared. On the second day they also realized that this was really not possible and we got another guide so we continued with 12 men. After some words with this guide, he did try a bit harder. But he didn't have much understanding either. Would recommend this tour because of the beautiful views, but you get that with every tour here. This tour itself is a really big fat NO GO!! Really a waste of so much money, would again really book it somewhere else. (We booked it through GetYourGuide). Cheaper, because everyone goes to the same place anyway and you are not suddenly treated differently here. Guides are not the friendliest, driver doesn't speak a word of English (but a hardworking man who can't help it either). Gets dry rice with vegetables as food.... really not good food. On the last day we all had super much stomachache and my mother is still sick after 2 days. Could go on like this. The second night at 5,000 meters, not a wink of sleep from the cold. Super many people were not feeling well and the guides just shrug if you asked for help with altitude sickness. Anyway, exhale in breath. Can't change anything now. But hopefully someone will read this who can make another choice. But would really not recommend this tour this way. Maybe we are spoiled because we just came from Peru and everything there is perfectly arranged... but we really thought it was a waste of our experience. Views one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, but the experience was just really not good. In the end we went away for 2 days, no shower. When we arrive at the Atipax hotel, we think a nice shower. May we have a little shower with some kind of small staff? Then we have to wait from 16:00 to 21:00 until our night bus. Where dinner is no longer inclusive in the tour.. which was also not indicated anywhere. They should also not call the tour 5 days but 2.5 days. First it is of course in the night from La Paz to Uyuni. Then day you have a full day after that, second day also, and then the 3rd day it is a morning and then 7 hours in a long drive back. The bottom line: communication is key. Too bad about our experience. Luckily we have the pictures of all the beautiful views that make it a bit straighter!
