Javier was an excellent... - Javier was an excellent guide. He provided so much information and fun facts as we drove and at each location. Aurelio was a very competent driver. The lunch was tasty, and the service was prompt. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Great Overview of Coquimbo and La Serena! - This tour covered a lot in the short time that our cruise was in port in Coquimbo, and we felt fortunate to be able to see and do so much while we were there. We began with a visit to the Cruz Del Tercer Milenio which is both beautiful and inspiring. The view from the top offers very impressive scenes of the harbor below. We then stopped at the lighthouse in La Serena and drove from there to the city center for a walking tour. The final stop before lunch was the Japanese gardens. The included lunch was delicious. We had cheese and shrimp pastries for our appetizers, and baked salmon with fresh mashed potatoes and yeast rolls for the main. For our drinks, we ordered a local beverage that was made with lemon and ginger and was similar to lemonade but so much better! There was even live music at the restaurant to enjoy as we ate. All of this, and we still got back to the cruise with plenty of time to spare.

Coquimbo, La Serena, Elqui Valley & Vicuña - Great trip. We visited Coquimbo on a cruise ship with my son who is a wheelchair user. Car was very clean and both the tour guide and driver were very knowledgeable. They were also very helpful when it came to transferring my son into and out of the car with the wheelchair. Places visited were beautiful and interesting. Would definitely recommend.

More holidays!!! - A very nice trip, hopefully planning ahead for the visit to the Elqui Valley, so you can do the different activities you have there, for example the theme of observatories is something that should have a more touristic vision and expand its capacity so that everyone can participate. In addition, the trip to Chañaral de olive tree for the visit to the reserve and whale watching is a total experience, just do not forget the pills for dizziness. Visit beach the mothballed, tip of choros, further south totoralillo, guanaqueros, etc. A lot to do in a very short time.

Beware when booking this tour - The quality of the La Serena and Coquimbo City Tour provided by LST tours on behalf of Viator was not at all good. The guide, who gave her name as Giovanna, was badly organised, lacking in knowledge and certainly not the expert bi-lingual guide promised in the tour description. The offering we experienced, could in no way be described as a 'guided' tour. Giovanna offered no information or commentary of worth as we moved from place to place and instead acted more as a courier simply telling us what we would visit next and how long it would take to get there. Upon arrival at each of the stops her input was limited to 'it is beautiful, we have ? minutes here, be back at the meeting point by...! She spent most of the early part of the trip taking orders for lunch and gave no information of worth about local life commerce and culture and that which she did offer, she had to check for accuracy on her mobile phone! She offered no information at all about city square in La Serena and at the cultural museum when questioned about the Easter Island figure, she told us that it was a replica, before once again consulting her phone and going round to tell people that it was an original. Her time and group management were both very poor. We spent a very, very long time, well more than an hour, at the Cross of the Third Milenium, while waiting for a very slow lift to take people to the top. People would have actually accepted being told that there was not enough time for this. We then spent almost half an hour at the Lighthouse in La Serena, which was far too long in the poor weather and visibility today. Unfortunately that meant that when we arrived at La Recova Market were allowed only ten minutes! Finally upon arrival at the Japanese Garden, we were all asked to leave the bus and then we were immediately asked to get back on, as she had decided that because of time constraints we should go straight for lunch and return to the Japanese Garden later. Lunch did not start until almost 3 pm and we did not finish until 4 pm The lady clearly had limited skills as a guide and when I asked her whether we would be receiving a refund for the tour she seemed genuinely ignorant of the abysmally low standard of experience that she was responsible for! Based on everything described so far, a good third of the group asked for the tour to be concluded at this point and she agreed that the bus driver would return us to the ship - after which he would return to the restaurant and complete the tour for those who wished to continue. After agreeing this, she even had the temerity to request a group photo and ask that we all smile!! Whilst awaiting our return, things changed again and she asked everyone to get back on the bus and that the tour would continue in a shortened form once we had been off loaded - in the end, and as we left, barely a third of the group opted to stay on board. This was not a cheap excursion and as we booked through Viator we asked for a refund less the cost of the meal, which in itself was good quality, and frankly the only highlight of a wasted day. Picking up a taxi driver at the port gate would have been a less expensive and more informative option. Viator bounced the complaint on to LST who refused any form of refund, as we had chosen to leave the tour early In summary, the tour was not as described, the quality was not what we'd paid for and I would advise caution when booking this tour

Worst tour ever - Tour operator was totally incompetent. She did not give narrative ..mainly she sat in back of the bus. Wasted time filling in menu selections which passengers could have done themselves. Wasted time leaving the port. Bus was full and she had to go talk to someone. Then spent well over one hour at the third millenium cross which was not necessary. On other stops she never told us how long to be there..everyone asking individually. Stopped at Japanese gardens, but did not go in, then loaded everyone back on bus and told us we were going to lunch….it was already almost 3 pm" …..she told us we were going back to the gardens after lunch, then told us we were not going there at all. Lunch was ok….wasted time taking drink orders which should have been done earlier. It was after 4 pm by the time we finished lunch….half of the bus requested a return to the port so we missed the gardens, the downtown area and the fort because of tour guide incompetence and disorganization. We learned nothing about Coquimbo and La Serena……I feel we should be refunded at least half of this tour and there were many others that felt the same way. I hope they wrote their reviews….LST ( La Serena Tourism) should be taken off your list of providers. We have had good luck using Victor in the past…..this one was simply awful.

Big disappointment - Poor organization of the tour. Our ship arrived one hour late, the tour started late because of that. Once on board the bus, we were informed that the microphone was not working, explanations were given sporadically. We did not have our lunch until 3 pm as the guide did not adjust the itinerary. The food was not properly cooked, fried fish came out still raw. Don't waste your time and money for this tour.
