Porto Venere - Often overlooked, yet arguably the most stunning of the coastal villages in the region, Porto Venere is also the oldest. It boasts historic marvels such as the Church of St. Peter, which is almost camouflaged atop the sheer rock face at the town’s westernmost point, and the imposing Doria Castle that overlooks the village.

UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the Cinque Terre
- Monterosso al Mare - The northernmost village of the Cinque Terre is Monterosso, divided into two parts: the historic center and the “new” side called Fegina, connected by a pedestrian tunnel. Monterosso is more expansive than the other villages and is the only one offering beach services, making it the most visited of the Cinque Terre.
- Vernazza - Vernazza, the smallest of the Cinque Terre, is often regarded as the most charming, with a picturesque little harbor and the Church of St. Margaret of Antioch right on the water. Here, you will also find the Belforte Tower, which stands as a protective beacon for the tiny village.
- Corniglia - Perched 100 meters high on a cliff, Corniglia is the only village without a harbor and features a panoramic terrace where you can view Manarola and Riomaggiore to the south and Vernazza and Monterosso to the north.
- Manarola - A short journey up the coast leads to Manarola, located at the other end of the Via dell’Amore and part of the municipality of Riomaggiore. Known for its wine production, Manarola produces the unique dessert wine called Sciacchetrà, exclusive to this area.
- Riomaggiore - Continuing along the coast, the last of the Cinque Terre villages encountered is Riomaggiore. With brightly colored houses built vertically up the surrounding hills, Riomaggiore is the second largest of the five villages and is renowned for excellent diving spots off its coast in the protected marine area that extends along the Cinque Terre. Here, you will also find the starting point of the world-famous Via dell’Amore walking path, leading to neighboring Manarola.
