• Katas Raj Temples - The Katas Raj Temple is a significant Hindu temple located in the Chakwal district of Punjab, Pakistan. This historical and architectural treasure is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and has been in existence since the era of the Mahabharata. According to legend, when Shiva’s wife Satti passed away, his tears formed two sacred ponds—one in Ajmer, India, and the other at Katas/Ketas, which means “raining eyes” in Sanskrit. The abandoned temples, fort, bathhouses, and rest houses encircle a pool sacred to Shiva, attracting thousands of Hindus each April for ritual bathing. Most of the temples were constructed during the reign of Hindu kings over 900 years ago, although the oldest of the Katas Raj temples dates back to the latter half of the 6th century AD. The Salt Range consists of salt deposits formed when the sea evaporated 600 million years ago. This exceptional tour includes a visit to the second-largest salt mine, featuring three distinct colors of salt, along with renowned Hindu temples. Departing from both Lahore and Islamabad, participants will enjoy a picturesque journey, experiencing the natural beauty within the mountain.
