After lunch, start your exploration of the northwestern cluster of churches:

• Bete Medhane Alem (the largest rock-hewn church globally)
• Bete Maryam (renowned for its interior artwork)
• Bete Golgotha & Mikael (noted for their spiritual and historical significance)
• Other nearby interconnected churches
  These churches are intricately carved from solid rock and linked by tunnels and trenches, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”
  Activities:
• Walk through narrow passages symbolizing heaven and hell
• Optional sunset view over the churches

Morning:
Visit the southeastern cluster of churches:

• Bete Gabriel-Rufael
• Bete Amanuel
• Bete Abba Libanos
  Then visit the most iconic church:
• Bete Giyorgis (St. George), a stunningly carved, cross-shaped church standing alone
  If your return flight is on the same day, the visits can be efficiently arranged to ensure you see the key sites before heading to the airport.
