Incredible experience in the jungle with two lovely tourguides - Just WOW! I booked this tour because of the great reviews, and it truly lived up to them! First of all, the communication via WhatsApp deserves more than five stars; they replied so quickly, were incredibly friendly, and helped us with everything. Secondly, everything about the tour was well organized: 1. When we arrived in Bukit Lawang, two team members (Nata and Aripin) picked us up and brought us to the office by motorbike. Both were very friendly and helpful. At the office, a guy named Doni gave us all the information we needed. We eventually booked the 2-day, 1-night tour. 2. We had two tour guides, Nata and Syaipul. They adjusted the tour to the interests of the group, which made the experience even more enjoyable. They shared knowledge about jungle plants, trees, and animals, and you could really tell they have a deep connection with the jungle. They also did a great job making us feel safe, which in my opinion is very important in such an unfamiliar and unpredictable environment. What stood out even more was how kindly and patiently they helped my mother through the steeper parts of the jungle, always encouraging and offering a helping hand when needed. We saw three different species of monkeys, including orangutans. The food was delicious, and the campsite was more comfortable than I expected. What touched me most was how we connected through music, it turned the trip into something truly unforgettable. My mom and I want to thank the whole team, especially Nata and Syaipul, for this unforgettable experience. I hope to see you in the future!

Unforgettable jungle and human experience - Great experience with Sumatra Ourangutan Trekking!! It was so good that I made the trek twice: First 2 days then I came back to do the 3 days one. Our guides Nasir, Aripin, Syaiful and Nata were very careful to ensure that we had the best possible time, watching for all signs and traces of animals of all kinds and sharing their knowledge about their beautiful jungle. I've seen a lot of monkeys and ourang-utans because of them! They really take care of everyone, adapting to the rhythm and mood of the group whatever the conditions. They also do everything possible to create a beautiful cohesion with a great dose of joy and good humor, whatever our age or nationality, whether we came alone or together. It is not only thanks to the orangutans but above all thanks to them that I will keep an enduring memory of this superb immersive experience in the jungle! Not to mention the food cooked by a great chef: definitely the best I could taste in Sumatra 😍 And really cool evenings singing and playing guitar (the team definitely has a lot of talent that they like to share with their guests <3). They really welcomed me all with open arms and made me feel like a member of their family. I would also like to thank Doni for his warm welcome, sympathy and immense wisdom. And a special thank you to Dedek who took great care of me, my comfort and all the logistics from my arrival until my departure, and far beyond. I arrived in Bukit Lawang without a penny, after having all my cash and credit card stolen the day before the trek. Dedek not only allowed me to join Bukit Lawang by advancing the taxi fare that I could no longer afford, but he also lent me all the money I needed to get out of this delicate situation. I arrived in Bukit Lawang in disgust and total stress, and left with a huge smile and heart full of beautiful memories. (And then I came back 😉 ) So once again, a huge THANK YOU / TERIMA KASIH to Dedek, Doni, Nasir, Aripin, Syaiful, Nata, Azizi and the whole Sumatra Ourangutan Trekking team, who made my stay in Bukit Lawang the best memory of my trip to Sumatra!

2 days 1 night - The trecking tour was so good we saw a lot of orangutans and had so much fun. Out tourguides were syaiful and nata and they were so helpful they knew a lot of the jungle and were always friendly and nice. Also the food was so amazing and the accomendation in the jungle was good. I can only recommend that tour with this company.

Seeing the Orang-Utans in the Wild nature - The Tour was one of the Best Trips i’ve ever made, the nature and the Orang-Utans are insane. Best ratings to our tourguides Nata and Syaiful, they were amazing, I loved the vibe, they don’t stress you, you laugh a Lot and you can do youre own Tempo. I already miss this :))

Amazing experience! - The team were fabulous from start to finish. Organising the trip couldn’t have been easier, I have never seen someone reply on WhatsApp so quickly! They provided every service we could have imagined; quick airport transfers, accommodation and of course brilliant jungle trekking. The Jungle was an experience we will remember forever. Coming so close to amazing wildlife is something you never forget. The guides are knowledgeable, caring and always attentive to the group needs. If you are hesitant on this experience just book it! Once in a lifetime experience - although I think I will come back. Thanks again to the team. Bukit Lawang is a very special place.

No need to look elsewhere! - Not enough words to describe the incredible experience we had with Sumatra Orangutan Trekking! From the very beginning the communication was clear, informative and frequent. We had them coordinate a pickup and drop off at the airport which went seamless. The on-site guides from the company were incredibly helpful, super kind, very knowledgeable of the local area and very accommodating. The first morning we saw male orangutan which is quite rare and the two subsequent days we were also able to see female orangutans with their young. The resort itself is incredible and the jungle accommodations were more than expected. Everyone was very helpful and super kind! You will not be disappointed with this tour or with this company there's really no need for you to look elsewhere!

Genuinely life changing experience - I could not recommended this company more to anyone looking to do an Orangutan Trek. From booking and organising plans with Dadek, airport transport, trips to and from our accomodation into the village as well as the trek itself, every aspect of this trip is organised impeccably. My partner and I did the 2 day overnight jungle trek with Ibnu and Nata and they were absolutely amazing and very patient when we needed breaks during the hike. They were lots of fun throughout the 2 days and made sure we’re were always extremely well fed. Overall, We saw 5 Orangutans, lots of monkeys and a few Gibbons!! We were both very glad that we stayed an extra day to do a tour of Bukit Lawang and learn about the local people and culture from Doni. He really helped make this trip extra special. I would recommend this part to everyone. It was also a nice rest day after getting back from the jungle.

A smooth adventure from start to finish and beyond - Sumatra Orangutan Trekking is a first class operation. From start to finish they make sure you are happy, comfortable and safe. The trek itself was quite tough (for me) but one of the guides stayed with me at all times if I fell behind. Seeing the orangutans and other wildlife make it worth though. I also have to mention the food, there is an abundance of deliciousness! Dinner in the camp, lunch on the trek and so much fruit! On your last day you also get to go tubing on the river. A special thank you to Ibnu our guide and Nata our assistant guide who went above and beyond. There are many other trekking companies in the area but I would recommend these guys over and over again. Pro tip: Stay in Bukit Lawang on a Saturday night before/ after your trek so that you can join the guys for the weekly party. :)

Unforgettable two-day jungle trekking with orangutans spotting - We spotted orangutans and gibbons up close during the two-day trekking, thanks in part to our guide Nasir. The guides were very friendly and knew a lot about nature in the area. The walk was quite a lot up and down, but we stopped often enough to drink some water and catch our breath. You'll be taken into account. Groups consisted of a maximum of six people and two guides. When it comes to food, it is also all very well arranged. The rafting at the end was another nice extra on the already unforgettable experience.

The real jungle experience - We had a fantastic experience in the jungle! It all started with the good customer service via Whatsapp where Dedek helped us excellently with our taxi to Bukit Lawang & back and also a stay the night before we went into the jungle could easily be arranged. Our 2 day jungle trip with Nasir and Aripin was also fantastic. The boys make sure we saw as much of the jungle as possible and also explained a lot. We have seen a total of 6 orangutans! We were not short of anything and were also served delicious food in the jungle. All in all a fantastic experience, definitely recommended!!
