Tomafayo Tour a journey into the past of Lanzarote. - We had a fantastic tour to Timafayo National Park with Michael as our guide and wonderful driver . The three experiments were brilliant. Then came the drive through the lava fields, our driver( so sorry can’t recall your name ) made it a memorable experience, the views were unique, not like anything we’ve seen before. Michael was so interesting, funny and so knowledgeable, we learnt so much about the Park and the whole island. Would recommend the tour great value and the coach was immaculate too . Thanks for a wonderful trip.

Great trip - Great trip, beautiful views, great guides. We went with 7 month old girl and 3 year old boy. Both enjoyed it, although beware that you can't use stroller in some places and should take baby carrier with you. Stroller can be stored on the bus in the meanwhile. One annoying bit was the loud ereer music that was played while travelling through volcanic landscape. It was fun at first as it created unusual atmosphere, but annoying after a while. This although bothered my son, who tried to sleep, but couldn't.

A great day out - something a bit different - A lovely day - impressed with the organisation, tour guide Roland and driver Melvin who kept the coach on the narrow roads of the lava fields ! Had to change the date of trip a couple of times and Gerry in admin was helpful and quick to reply.

Can't get any closer to Volcanoes than on this tour - Amazing tour and tour guide. Quite scary driving so close to huge volcanoes on super narrow road. If you like that thrill of danger it's perfect trip. Also you can take camel ride that's optional.

Book this tour - Great experience, would recommend it to anyone travelling to Lanzarote. We had a knowledgeable and funny tour guide, and an experienced driver too! We did not want to participate in the optional camel ride, so we spent some time in the gift shop instead.
Thank you 😊

You have to see it to believe it! - Angela at Tours by Locals;
provided us with a fantastic and wonderful tour. She picked us up at our cruise ship and we immediately headed to the lava fields. It was almost unbelievable as we drove past the fields; they seemingly went on as far as you could see in every direction. They we got to the Park, paid our admission and she helped us on the the bus that took us on a tour that further explored the inside of the park and stopped at strategic photo spots.
After the bus ride we ate a great lunch at the restaurant up to that offered a panoramic view and great food.
We saw a fire demonstration of how HOT the rocks were just a few feet below us. All of this was great- but there was more beautiful scenery to come.
We went to the other side of the island and got great views and pictures from high above.
She took us to the Lava tube and we walked through it stopping along the way for even more photos.
This was a great tour and Angela knew just where to take us to make sure we enjoyed all of the lovely and breathtaking scenery!’

A great tour well worth it - A great tour with a fantastic tour guide. We learnt a lot in a fun and interesting way. He also new about the large queues at the volcano which we didn't have to queue. The tour is well worth it!

Excellent half day trip for a family that covers everything we wanted to do and see. - Only had a short week holiday so wanted a half day trip that included the Timanfaya National Park. The Short tour was excellent and the family really enjoyed it. Efficient pick up beside hotel at 9.30 and then just a few pick ups before arriving at the camels. We had not intended to take a ride but decided to give it a go. You go in pairs and it’s €11 each. It was fun to tour around the base of the volcanoes with the family on the camels and the guide even took photos for us on our phones. Good value. We then heading to to the volcano and watched 3 demonstrations, visited the shop, took pics and then boarded bus again for a drive through the entire park stopping at the craters etc for photos. Tony, our guide was good fun and knowledgeable. We then stopped at Geria for wine tasting which we hadn’t realised was part of the trip. Pick up 9.30, dropped back at 1.45. Just enough time to still enjoy an afternoon at the pool. Highly recommended short trip.

Short south tour - volcanic lava fields - Great trip within the national park. Amazing to see the scale of the lava fields. The driver and travel guide were great and very informative. The trip was longer than expected due to pick ups which took an hour. So we weren’t back until after 2. The camel ride was an experience but we did feel sorry for them although the guide told us they were well looked after. I would have preferred to see them in a more natural state and maybe had an experience of feeding and learning about them rather than the ride.

Too many buses / Poor Weather didn’t help - Booked through Jet 2.
Ok, for a start, the weather was awful. This couldn’t be helped but it made the experience worse.
First stop in the rain and we were punted off the bus to go to a lookout point in the pouring rain. 8 buses worth of people at the same time. All fighting to get up to the lookout point people were pushing and jostling. We went back to the bus and had to chap the door to get back in as it was so wet.
We visited the Bodega La Geria next as Timanfaya wasn’t open and again everyone was shoehorned into a tiny shop, wine tasting area, except the promise of a taste of wine came with a €4 cost. We were led to believe it was part of the price.
The toilets in this stop off were like something from a 3rd world. Urine all over the floor, the smell of poo was awful.
Eventually we went to Timanfaya and sat in a queue for 25 min before going in and experiencing the three displays of the heat, the fire and the geyser.
We were told about the food cooked by the volcanic heat but were only allowed to walk past and look and then back on the bus for a tour of the park.
Again, no fault of anyone but due to the weather we were literally in cloud and saw nothing for 40 mins before we were driven back down again and dropped off.
Too many buses at the same time, too many people, too rushed, too busy and not adapted for poor weather.
Really poor day out
