• Castello di Acaya - The journey includes a visit to the medieval town of Acaya, where the castle and its protective wall can be admired. A stop in the main square is planned for a “Caffé leccese” (coffee with ice and almond syrup) break.
• Riserva Naturale Le Cesine - The route takes cyclists through this well-preserved natural reserve, where the air is filled with the fragrance of eucalyptus and other native plants and trees.
• San Foca - If the weather permits, a swim break is scheduled here to refresh during the hottest hours, accompanied by a sandwich typically purchased in Acaya.
• Struda - The journey continues through quaint villages like Vanze and Strudà, offering opportunities for short breaks. As the path winds through country lanes, the impressive olive trees, known for their size and artistic trunks, can be admired. The return to Lecce is via side streets amidst the countryside.

The area that separates Lecce from the sea proves the beauty of Salento’s landscape and still preserves the traces of the important role that this area played in the history.

Riding out from Lecce towards the southeast through secondary roads, we will reach the fortified village of Acaya, a Messapic site where you will admire the majestic medieval castle, the walls of the village and its ancient city plan, still preserved.

Then we will move towards the WWF natural park “Le Cesine”, which hides many beautiful plants and water birds. So we will refresh with a nice swim in Torre Specchia and we will cycle back to Lecce crossing a landscape full of olive trees and small villages
