Experienced and passionate bird watching guides, will make it so worth it for you! - Four of us took this early morning guided bird watching tour in late Jan. 2025. Carlos, our guide, was very knowledgeable about all the bird species we could hope to see, and over the course of our nearly 4hour tour, we saw 43 species! He used special bird calls to lure certain species out closer to us for photo ops. And he even created a list in Ebird for us to view. He took so many great pics for us. Really enjoyed this tour - well worth an early wake-up!

Great birding in Akumal! - Great tour! We immediately saw toucans and so many other birds. Carlos was amazing at sighting birds in the trees and pointing them out. Keep in mind, this is a natural, sometimes walking bird tour that is in the jungle. It is amazing to see.

54 species in 5 hours! - Our expert guide Carlos led us to a very active location on a rural road outside of Playa del Carmen. We were able to find 54 species of birds. Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. His enthusiasm for birding was evident and he ensured that we saw as many birds as possible. He even created an eBird list for us while we explored and took hi-res photos of birds that he shared after the trip. I highly recommend taking this tour with Carlos.

Fantastic, colorful... - Fantastic, colorful birding with Lugo! He knew where to look for and find birds. He was low key, comfortable to work with and knowledgeable about the area. We would use him again.

Great birding experience - Carlos was a great guide. We identified over 40 species in one morning and many some good photo opportunities. I would highly recommend Carlos as a guide coming from a beginner birder.

Trogons, Motmot, Pygmy Owl, plus a lot more. - Our guide, Lugo, was very helpful with identifying birds. He was able to manually whistle like a Ferruginous pygmy owl, which attracted both the owl and other song birds (because song birds attempt to identify this small predator). We spotted about 40 species of birds, including two species of Trogons in the same tree, plus the Turquoise-browse motmot (see photos). Lugo also shared eBird list with tour group at the end so no one else needed to try and keep an active list of birds. I highly recommend visiting, especially in March and April. I also recommend wearing comfortable hiking attire and bring sunscreen plus mosquito repellent. Guide may have extra binoculars, but I brought my own pair as well.

Amazing Birding Adventure - I had such a wonderful birding experience with Carlos! Together we saw 58 species of birds which were tracked via the apps Merlin and EBird (which I recommend any birding fans download).
We saw owls, hawks, buntings, Orioles and many many more!
If you love bird photography, do yourself a favour and book this tour, you will not regret it!

Quality service and birding for birders of all levels - Carlos is a fantastic birding guide. He’s so good that I went twice in one week! I saw 61 species during the second birding experience and he provided detailed field information that helped me identify birds along the way. Please do yourself the favor of birding with Carlos!

Excellent bird watching and photography experience - This was one of my best birding experiences. Carlos was a great guide for the trip, and we recorded 52 species (with fantastic photo opportunities) in just 3 hrs. Carlos knew the exact hotspots and it was so much fun. 20 #lifers for me which I was not expecting at all in this season. I would strongly recommend this trip whether you are new to birding or a seasoned birder. Great photo ops also with birds at eye level. Again, an excellent morning, well spent.
