Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo) - Enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive from Chengdu to Leshan city in the morning, taking in the beautiful countryside views. Upon arrival, you can climb up the Buddha for a close-up view. For a more immersive experience, walk down the narrow plank to the Buddha’s feet, where you’ll find yourself as tall as one of its toes.

8:00-10:30: Travel to Leshan, where your tour guide will welcome you.
10:30-12:30: Ascend the mountain for a closer look at the Buddha.

Baoguo Temple - Located at the base of Mt. Emei, Baoguo Temple is the largest temple on the mountain and serves as the starting point for tours of Mt. Emei. Constructed during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the temple features a horizontal plaque inscribed by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It is also the headquarters of the Mt. Emei Buddhist Society.

Morning Chanting, Emei Kungfu Class, Visit to Wan Nian Temple (Mt Emei)

Baoguo Temple - Early risers have the opportunity to participate in morning chanting, followed by a Kungfu class. Emei Kungfu is a renowned and enigmatic form of Chinese martial arts. Join this morning session to learn authentic Emei Kungfu.

Itinerary:
6:00: Participate in morning chanting at the temple. (A must-see for early risers.)
7:30-8:10: Attend an Emei Kungfu class with a Kungfu master.

Wannian Temple - Begin by taking a public sightseeing bus from the entrance of Mount Emei to the Monastery of Ten Thousand Years parking lot. Opt for a cable car ride to reach the Monastery effortlessly. The Monastery of Ten Thousand Years is the largest of the eight monasteries on Mount Emei, situated 1,043 meters above sea level and built in the 4th century. The Brick Hall, constructed of bricks, houses a statue of the Bodhisattva Puxian on a white elephant, standing 8.5 meters tall and cast in copper and bronze. Afterward, walk to Qingyinge to appreciate the sub-tropical forest and waterfall. Continue through Yixiantian Valley (A Glimmer of Sky) to the Monkey eco-area, where you can interact with friendly monkeys. Be cautious with your belongings, as monkeys may try to snatch them. Finally, walk to Wuxiangang Parking Lot in 20-30 minutes and take a public bus back to the entrance. The entire journey lasts about 2.5-3 hours. (Public bus fare is included in the Mount Emei entrance fee.)

9:50-10:30: Explore Wan Nian Temple.
11:20-12:50: Walk to Qingyinge to enjoy the sub-tropical forest and waterfall.
13:00-14:00: Lunch break.
14:00-15:20: After lunch, walk to Wuxiangang Parking Lot and take a public bus back to the entrance.
15:30-18:00: Return to Chengdu.

• It’s not a good experience to take this tour during Chinese Golden Week: China National Day holiday (Oct.1 - Oct.7), Chinese Spring Festival. It would be very busy on the traffic and you may spend more time on queuing up. We suggest you stagger your trip.
• Temple stay is not allowed any more since COVID-19 outbreak. We will arrange one night hotel accommodation outside near the Baoguo Temple instead.
• If you want to see the Golden Summit instead of halfway hiking tour to Wan Nian Temple and Qingyige, please let your tour guide know and kindly pay the total difference 220 Chinese yuan in cash.
• The tour guide will accompany you through the whole tour. Please respect the rules in the temple.
