- Kongens gate - Following the initial tasting, the tour continues with an engaging walk through the town center. Here, fascinating stories about Ålesund’s rich history and the intriguing lives of its residents will be shared. The journey proceeds to Kongensgate (Kingstreet) with a brief stop at the charming Pavilion.
The Pavilion provides a magnificent panoramic view of the city’s harbor, offering a chance to admire the picturesque Art Nouveau architecture and explore delightful local shops. As the tour continues along the harbor’s edge, guests will be introduced to some delicious local delicacies.
- Stuen AS - The next stop is at Stuen, a renowned local diner cafe that has been serving for over 60 years! It’s an excellent spot for a quick meal or a relaxed hangout. Guests will have the opportunity to taste “Svinemør,” a local sausage.
- Walderhaug Bakery and Confectionery - At the town’s oldest bakery, guests will receive a “turtle” / skilpadde. Not a real turtle, but a small edible “turtle,” which is a local cake.
- Brosundet i Alesund - Brosundet is celebrated as Ålesund’s most iconic photography location, and memorable moments will be captured here. Guests will be guided to the perfect vantage point and enjoy more local dishes in these stunning surroundings.
- Apotekergata - The adventure concludes with a visit to Anno Restaurant, where guests will taste a pizza topped with salted and dried cod.

Food Tours - Great for 1st evening in the City - Food tours are a great way to explore the city, learning some history, hitting the neighborhood highlights via walking and getting a sense of the cuisine. This food tour was no exception. I really enjoyed the preview of Norwegian food and then the next day, we explored on our own.

Something a bit different with great food too - Excellent, great guide Monica, very relaxed very informative LOVELY food from local traders no cooperate companies brought home some brown cheese, Interesting excursion to do something a bit different

Excellent food tour of downtown Ålessund - We had an excellent experience from before the tour began. My partner is lactose intolerant and when we responded to an email asking if their were any dietary restrictions (and no guarantee they could be accommodated), the tour organizer (Rigmor Eik) did everything they could to work with the five stops. And they did! At four of the stops they found close alternatives or omitted certain items. The young man who ran the tour, Piotr, was excellent. While the venues ranged from a small take out place to a fancy hotel the food was all excellent. Piotr was clear in his speech, very knowledgable about the food and about the history of Ålesund, and with an excellent demeanor. We had a terrific time and recommend it completely.

Best Food Tour in Ålesund! - The food walking tour was a wonderful way to experience some of the unique flavors of Norway and history of Ålesund. Monica was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Since she is a local, she had some personal experiences that she shared which were fascinating. She knew the history of the families and the buildings where we stopped for tasting. All the food was delicious and it was a very easy walk. We definitely recommend this tour.

Taste of Norway - Everything was great! The food was an unique experience and learning a little about Alesund along the way was a nice touch. Our tour guide was amazing and keeping everyone together and really knowing her stuff! Walking was easy and at a leisurely pace, plus, a lot of opportunities to take pictures!

BOOK THIS NOW!!! Fantastic way to see the city and taste the local cuisine! This is a must-do in Alesund! - Piotr was fantastic! The food was amazing. We ate some beautiful cuisine and got a firsthand tour of the city. Piotr makes everyone feel special and gives so much insight to what it’s like to live in Norway. The establishments and food were spectacular. We also met wonderful people on the tour that we plan to keep in touch with! I highly recommend this tour! You will be thankful that you did!

Great Tour! - Great tour! We enjoyed each of the 10 tastings, some are multiple tastings a stop. We enjoyed getting to try Danish food and to hear about the city and the culture from a local.

Outstanding tour! - Outstanding tour! We learned a good deal of Norwegian history and culture while sampling local and Norwegian specialities. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was well-paced and the food was amazing. Would highly recommend.
