• Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden - Situated in the prairies of Southern Alberta is a Japanese sanctuary with a rich heritage and stunning vistas. Nikka Yuko signifies Japan-Canada Friendship, and visitors are invited to explore this bond and discover the garden’s history, the founders, and the challenges faced by Japanese-Canadians in the area post-war.

Delight in a range of cultural experiences, programs, and performances throughout the summer. Enjoy a cup of green tea while wandering the pathways, or sit peacefully by the dry rock garden to reflect on its patterns. Savor sake or a Japanese beer while watching Minyo dance performances, or observe the art of matcha preparation during a traditional tea ceremony. Before departing, don’t forget to ring the Friendship Bell, sending a message of goodwill to all who hear its sound across the picturesque Henderson Lake. General admission tickets include access to Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, our exhibits, and any daily activities, performances, or demonstrations happening on that day. Please be sure to visit our website to see what’s happening each day before your visit! All guests will receive a comprehensive self-guided tour and access to our online audio tour. Our hosts and hostesses look forward to your visit and are happy to answer any questions, take memorable family photos, or assist in making your visit as serene as possible!

Admission does not includes food or beverages, but guests may purchase coffee, tea, bottled water and our signature Matcha Maple cookies at Cleo’s Cafe within our new Bunka Centre. We do not allow outside food or drink inside the garden.

• As the floor in the Pavilion is extremely fragile, shoes are not allowed inside. However, deck tours will be provided to those not able to tour the inside. A wheelchair is available for use at the Garden.
• The Garden is a smoke and vape free environment.
• Drones are not permitted at any time inside the garden
