At the break of dawn, embark on an adventure to observe the Wild Red Deer with a guide in its natural surroundings of picturesque mountains, bogs, heaths, grasslands, and woodlands in Connemara. This is a wonderful opportunity to witness this magnificent creature in its natural environment. It’s also a fantastic chance to photograph the stunning Connemara landscape! The prime time for deer observation is from early to mid-October, during the ‘rut’ when red deer engage in courtship. During this period, hormonally driven males put on a remarkable display as they compete to gather a group of females. You may hear them barking or hear the clash of antlers among the trees. This experience includes a walk in Connemara National Park to observe the deer and may also involve following your guide by car to explore this wilderness area in search of the deer. Gain insights from your professional guide about the unique wildlife, as well as the history and ecology of the region.
