Good travel agency to recommend - When I ordered online, I thought I could only use it for one day, and after looking carefully, I only knew I could use it for three days. Over the past three days, I have met five drivers more than ten times, each of whom is very close to the elderly people who will wait to sit down and drive, it is a good company to recommend.

Great way to explore the blue mountains! - I would highly recommend using the explorer bus if you are doing a day trip to the blue mountains. Both of the bus drivers were very kind and knowledgeable about the mountains, and we really enjoyed the commentary whilst riding between destinations. The buses were pretty much always on time to the minute, which was really helpful! A few of the walks were closed when we visited, to no fault of this company, but just make sure you check when planning your walks. We purchased the Lyrebird pass which included scenic world, which I would also recommend, although it is very busy with tours so get there early. The explorer bus is just such a great way to explore the blue mountains!

We had Damien as our bus... - We had Damien as our bus driver most of the day he was excellent at his job, gave plenty of information regarding stops. The booklet was very thorough and plenty of things to see and do. Would recommend extending pass if staying a few days.

The most incredible views of our trip so far - The Blue Mountain hop-on hop-off bus tour offered the perfect way to explore the area when we visited with a slightly older relative. We got the train to Katoomba and picked up the bus from bus stop number 1. The full tour takes about an hour to do the whole circuit and from the bus you'll see the huge range of activities you can take part in as well as the most spectacular views of the valley and the area surrounding it. The driver takes their time and gives a really good commentary on the things you are seeing, also offering advice on places for lunch and the activities you can take part in. It was a really great time and whetted our appetite for further activities in the future. But honestly, come for the views alone!

Best thing we did - This was the best plan we made, used the bus for 3 days to get all the walks and tourists areas while in blue mountains. The drivers - David, Tim and Angus were outstanding with their help and information and that they all have a joke with you makes it a great day. They gave great tips on what walks to do, which way to go and the best thing you don’t have to worry about a car and they aren’t far away when you get to a pick up point.

Make the most of it! - Driver great and a good commentary. From the bus you only get a few good views. We didn't get off at all as my friend couldn't walk far but I wish we could have seen more and made the most of it. Leura looked like a great village to visit. Katoomba a bit tired but there is a super art gallery/shop/cafe/library behind the small park by the hotel which is well worth a visit and the best ice cream ever from the place with suitcases outside just down from the bus stop. Scenic world cable car looked fanatastic. I hope I get back there one day.

Just brilliant worth every cent - We travelled by train to Leura and found the stop for this bus service and paid our $55 and got on. The commentary is very good as it gives context and history to the things you are seeing. The route takes in all the good look outs and hiking spots. We got on and off at places I had been to before and it was brilliant. Last time we had to park miles from most lookouts as all the parking was taken. I reckon this would be good value if you drove up you could just find a park in Katoomba and not worry about parking at all the tourist spots. The bus drops you off right at the entrance to each spot. It’s hourly which gives you enough time for photos and a quick hike. In fact the very useful guidebook they give you tells you about hikes and facilities at each destination. The bus was comfortable and clean and air conditioned and the drivers very friendly and considerate. I have a walking stick and each time they pulled up they assisted me. If you want to see a lot of the sites stress free I can’t recommend this highly enough! The driver even told me where the lotto shop in Katoomba was!

Must Add: Scenic World - Great way to see the town. Missed the "5" mark for me as the office staff appeared too rushed and answers given to questions were not clear. The bus drivers were nice, but some directions to hiking paths were vague. Example: "At honeymoon lookout, just take the easy 20 min walk to Echo Point" When we got off, there appeared to be a path to our left so off we went. After 45+ min walk which was not easy with multiple stairs, we realized we should have taken a path that was to the right of where we got dropped off. We missed it because of the trees. It appears this maybe an issue the bus company may have been aware of because the next day we got on the bus, the driver announced "No stop at Honeymoon Lookout because the town is finally doing tree cutting as tge trees were too over grown." We had 6 unhappy people after that hike which sadly set the tone for the rest of the day.

Hop On - Hop Off tour to Blue Mountains - The office for the bus is conveniently located at the top of the stairs as one leaves the railway station. Office staff efficient and friendly for checking in and issuing tickets. Bus stops at good number of locations within park. Unfortunately 30 -45 minute delay for picking up next bus so ability to visit the number of sites within park limited.
