Lake Arenal and the Volcano are so lush and exquisite. - It's a fabulous day trip. You should probably take a poncho or wear a waterproof coat in case it rains. Be prepared to walk a lot. I did 15,800 steps that day.

Lake Arenal and Hot springs with hanging bridges hike. - Such a great day! While driving to Arenal Volcano, our guide Daniel, shared information about Costa Rica. We stopped for breakfast and had a wonderful traditional breakfast with an excellent view of Lake Arenal. We drove on to visit the hanging bridges. There we saw snake, bats, birds, and got to walk 3 bridges. We then went to the Hot Springs and relaxed in a beautiful setting. We then went on to have lunch right at the base of the volcano. Such a beautiful area. The tour was excellent and our guide Danial was as well!

Excellent tour except for the rain - Bit of a long ride to the volcano from our hotel on the coast but worth the trip. Bring rain gear and comfortable hiking shoes. Wonderful 1-2 hour hike through the volcano rainforest. Weather (rain) really cut down on what wildlife we were able to see. Hanging bridges were a lot of fun. Our guide Juan was great and Rudy our driver was really efficient on our drives. Food was great, especially breakfast which provided a great view. Hot springs were a relaxing dip after the long hike. Lunch was very good at hotel with a beautiful view. Again the rain spoiled the views.

Excellent adventure. - Our guide Juan and driver Omar were excellent and attentive. They were very knowledgeable about the area, the history and ecological endeavors of the country. They shared their passion for their country and the areas we visited. They made this tour exciting and fun filled. They were quick to point out wildlife and interesting facts. Thanks to Omar for pulling over so we could get a closer view of some capuchin monkeys and some other raccoon related animals.

Everything was flawless... - Everything was flawless on this tour. The only somewhat odd thing was the hot springs that were chose . I see that they changed the location though so maybe that part is better. For us it wasn’t hot springs just heated pools

Arenal Volcano and Hot Springs Day Trip by Central American Tours - We all (four in our party) enjoyed the tour for what it was, but, in our opinion it wasn't as advertised and not worth the price. Juan our guide was knowledgeable and Santo our driver was friendly. (We were not offered any hydration on the bus, as they did not want to have to stop for bathroom breaks.) We started with a delicious breakfast at the Macadamia Cafe, then we drove around lake Arenal to Mistico Park for a hike through the rainforest. The hike was good, Juan pointed out a lot of interesting things. The hanging bridges were cool to see and cross. (Load limits are not followed). Lots of other hikers and groups. As for the volcano, I wouldn't say it is an up-close view of the Arenal volcano, you can see it off in the distance, weather permitting. After the hike we were to have lunch then proceed to the hot springs. We went to the hot spring first, so not too much lounging as we were all getting hungry. The 'hot spring' we went to was called Titoku. It was nice but it was not what we were expecting. It felt like a series of hot tubs; we ended up in one of the lower pools so it wasn't too hot, it was just comfortable. (Titoku will be a separate review). Then we went to lunch at a small resort, the food was great! Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the resort. We felt very rushed throughout the day and we weren't really able to enjoy the experience as we would have liked. It was a long drive to/from the resort (Riu Palace Guanacaste) for this excursion, so maybe the rushing was somewhat understandable. I would not recommend this tour.
