The Rio Tempisque flows through this area, and during the rainy fall season, it floods, creating an expansive marshland that attracts numerous migrating birds. Visitors can admire stunning birds such as snowy white herons, roseate spoonbills, and green-backed herons. Additionally, keep an eye out for great egrets, glossy ibis, black-bellied whistling ducks, and blue-winged teals.
