• Liberia - Departing from any hotel in Guanacaste, we head towards Liberia, passing through this city without stopping to make the most of our time.
• Penas Blancas - After passing through Liberia, we continue our journey to the border at Peñas Blancas, which takes about 40 minutes. Our company has already taken care of the exit taxes from Costa Rica and the entry taxes to Nicaragua for your convenience. We may stop for 15 to 20 minutes due to the line of trucks, but Costa Rican authorities are always present to ensure safety.
• Isletas de Granada - After crossing the border, we travel for about 20 to 25 minutes to reach the famous Lake Nicaragua in the city of Rivas. Here, you can take photos with your loved ones and enjoy the beautiful scenery. You can also have breakfast before or after exploring the area.
• Granada - We then continue to the city of Granada, arriving in about an hour. Here, we take a boat on the lake to an island where you can see monkeys, spiders, and other islands. This 25-minute tour offers plenty of photo opportunities and a real sense of adventure.
• Catarina - Next, we visit Lake Las Catarina, a stunning spot with a blue landscape and occasional live music. You can use binoculars to take in the view.
• Masaya - The guide will explain the history of the Masaya volcanoes, which have erupted several times and were feared by both indigenous peoples and Spanish conquerors. We’ll visit the Visitor Center to learn more, then drive to the highest point of the volcano to observe the lava. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a delicious Creole lunch.
• Mercado de Artesanias de Masaya - After lunch, we’ll visit the Oriental Craft Market for some shopping, where you can buy souvenirs and gifts. This concludes our tour of Nicaragua, and we’ll return to Costa Rica.
• Lake Nicaragua - Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Nicaragua to visit the islands of Granada.
