- Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Xia) - Once the guide has purchased the entrance tickets, the driver will take you to the gorge. Begin the hiking tour to the upper section of Tiger Leaping Gorge with a 15-20 minute walk along the plank road to the viewing platform at the valley floor. The powerful currents of the Jinsha River rush through the narrow valley, with waves crashing against the rocks. Be sure to have your camera ready to capture this breathtaking view. At the narrowest point, a massive rock, 13 meters (43 feet) high, divides the torrents into two branches. The surging waves crash against the rock with a thunderous roar. A special viewing platform is available for visitors to fully enjoy this magnificent scenery and take photos.
You will have 1.5 to 2 hours to enjoy the stunning scenery of the gorge. Afterwards, retrace your steps back to the parking lot with the guide.
