• Likir Monastery - Likir Monastery, also known as Likir Gompa, is a Buddhist monastery situated in Ladakh, Northern India. It stands at an elevation of 3700 meters, about 52 kilometers west of Leh.
• Alchi Monastery - Alchi Monastery, or Alchi Gompa, is a monastery and temple complex located approximately 65 kilometers from Leh along the banks of the Indus River. Alchi is considered one of the most significant Buddhist centers in Ladakh and is regarded as a monastic treasure of the region. The Alchi Monastery is nearly a thousand years old, showcasing the Tibetan influence on local culture. The Choskor Temple Complex houses five shrines with magnificent wall paintings, including a wall adorned with thousands of miniature Buddha images. The main attraction is three large, brightly painted clay images. Although no longer an active religious center, it is maintained by monks from Likir Monastery. For the past 500 years, religious practices have ceased at Alchi Monastery, as the Yellow Hat sect (Gelugpa) moved their activities to Likir, 30 kilometers away. The area around Alchi Gompa offers a welcoming atmosphere for visitors, with small restaurants, tea stalls, and souvenir shops.
• Magnetic Hill - Magnetic Hill, located on the Leh-Kargil-Srinagar national highway about 30 kilometers from Leh, is famously known as Gravity Hill. The hill’s magnetic properties are strong enough to pull heavy vehicles uphill, making it a popular tourist attraction due to its anti-gravity effects.
• Gurdwara Pathar Sahib - Gurdwara Pathar Sahib is a revered site where Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, is believed to have overcome a demon. According to legend, while Guru Nanak Ji was meditating, a demon hurled a large rock to disrupt his prayers, but the boulder turned into soft wax, leaving him unharmed. The demon then sought forgiveness, which Guru Nanak Ji granted. The boulder, bearing the imprint of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s body and the demon’s footprint, is displayed at Gurdwara Pathar Sahib. Although the area is predominantly known for Buddhism, Gurdwara Pathar Sahib is equally revered by all visitors. It is maintained by the Indian Army.
