Fantastic Tour!!! - Alfredo was a really great tour guide that was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He made sure I was happy with the tour and the tour was really great. Also it was a huge learning experience and a chance to see a world that is hard to experience alone. I definitely recommend this tour to people who want to see something unique.

Alfredo was an... - Alfredo was an exceptional tour guide and brought us on the most incredible tour. Usually when travelling, we see the best rich areas that are not actually representative of how the locals actually live. This private tour showed us the unfiltered reality for most of the people living outside the rich areas of Lima - all the sights, the sounds, the smells. Alfredo’s tour allowed us to get close and personal with the locals and have direct conversations with his never-missing-a-beat translations. The highlight of the tour for me was definitely eating a home cooked meal in a lovely local’s house. The meal was delicious and her story made me quite emotional. It is incredible how someone can be through so much yet stay resilient and kind to everyone she meets. For example she wakes up early at 6am every morning to cook breakfast for all the local kids and old people who cannot afford to eat. Separately, the proceeds from this tour go directly into helping 6-12 year old kids in the area. It is great to be able to have such a great experience while supporting the community. It was a win-win-win. This tour was definitely worth it, if even just to have a conversation with Alfredo, highly highly recommend, thank you Alfredo 🙏

Unforgettable Experience - This was a wonderful education about some of the less seen residents of Lima. Our tour guide was excellent and very patient with our many questions. We will never forget our experience.

Getting to know another face of Lima - Visitions à country is for me, on top of ruina, amazone scène tu and muséums, getting top know the people who live there, the “réal” people! I shall never Forget the warm and heartful welcome by Signore Ninfa and her friend, her life story, her small house without a roof. Alfredo and our friendly and efficient driver madré this hall-day a rich and mémorable expérience. Go for it !

An excellently organized, authentic, and insightful day - This was the highlight of our time in Lima...and possibly the most memorable day we spent in our 10 days in Peru. My two teenage children found the whole day fascinating and eye-opening. We were all inspired by meeting the local people, especially having lunch with Dona Ninfa at her home, and hearing their stories. Alfredo was an excellent guide, and all the logistics were excellent. I can't recommend this day highly enough.

My favourite day while in Lima - All the brown roofs in the hills surrounding Lima is where you go. An amazing chance to see how the people live and meet some truly inspiring individuals. The cemetery is interesting and I took some great pictures from the hilltop. This was my favourite day while in Lima. Definitely worth it and I 100% recommend doing this tour.

Incredible Unique Experience - Can’t speak highly enough of Alfredo and our half day tour of Lima with Alternative Peru! We saw and learned things very few other tourists get to experience. Best of all, the cost includes financial support for the communities and people we visited. We learned a lot about about Peruvian culture and the amazing work the less fortunate are doing to support each other. Wish we had more time to do the other tours that Alternative Peru offer.

Adds a unique and authentic dimension to any visit to Lima - This tour was amazing! I've been to Lima probably 25 times (I was born in the US but both parents are Peruvian and extended family are all still there so I've visited throughout my entire life) so I really thought I 'knew' Lima. But this is my first time taking this type of tour and it was *fascinating*. I thought it might be risky but it was totally safe, everyone we met was absolutely wonderful. On the tour you'll learn about the 'human settlements', their evolution and history, how they are self-governed and self-reliant. The ability of these communities to strive and thrive, even under the most challenging of circumstances, is a true testament to the human spirit! Alfredo and the driver picked us up from our hotel in Miraflores (there were 4 of us) and from there it took about 45 min to get to the first stop. The tour is nicely paced, very organized and super informative. Alfredo and this tour company have a true passion for uplifting these communities and they do a great job of bringing awareness and insight into this often overlooked (but very important) aspect of Lima's society. 1000% recommend!!
