The journey begins by collecting each traveler from their Hotel or Airbnb at 9:00 AM, based on our designated pick-up points. The exact pick-up time will be confirmed a day prior, depending on the location of their accommodations.

We will then head south of Lima in a private tourist vehicle (approximately 1 hour).

• Museo de Sitio y Santuario Arqueologico de Pachacamac - PACHACAMAC SITE MUSEUM

The tour includes a visit to the Site Museum within the Pachacamac Sanctuary, showcasing over 290 registered artifacts made from various materials such as ceramics, wood, and textiles. A highlight of the museum is the “Idol of Pachacamac.”

• Pachacamac - PACHACAMAC ARCHAEOLOGICAL CENTER

The tour continues with a visit to the Aclawasi “Temple of the Virgins of the Sun,” a sacred site where women chosen for their manual, culinary skills, or physical beauty lived and worked, serving the Inca empire. The Aclawasi of Pachacamac was one of the largest and most significant on the coast.

Additionally, visitors will admire the various structures that form this remarkable site, with buildings from cultures such as Lima, Wari, Ichma, and Quechua, showcasing their ingenuity and resilience in the challenging coastal desert environment.

• Pachacamac - After exploring the sacred areas in the lower part of the sanctuary, we will ascend an elevated ramp leading to the “Temple of the Sun,” the crown jewel of Pachacamac.

Finally, we will circle “The Temple of the Sun” or “Punchao kancha,” constructed from adobe and likely the largest temple along the coast, reflecting a significant organizational effort in its construction.

• Lima - PACHACAMAC – MIRAFLORES (45 minutes)

The tour concludes with a return to the lower area to board our vehicle and head back to your hotels or meeting points.

We’re set to explore a highly significant ceremonial site on the South Coast of Lima, the Pachacamac Sanctuary, recognized as the chief Pilgrimage Center during the Inca period. Known as the Earthquake God, numerous offerings were unearthed at this temple where we’d uncover archaeological remnants from the pre-Inca and Inca periods. Nestled amidst the desert and against the sea, this cluster of structures hosts temples like Acllahuasi, the Ancient Temple, and the Sun Temple, offering insights into pre-Hispanic architecture.
