An amazing experience just an hour from Lima! - If you are in Lima and want to do something different without getting too far away from the city, this sandboarding activity is just perfect. In about an hour you are already in the dunes, totally disconnecting from the noise and rhythm of the city. Closeness is a big plus. The organizers were exceptional from the beginning: they facilitated transport from Lima, punctual, attentive and very professional. You can tell they have experience and they really enjoy what they do. They explained everything patiently, made us feel safe at all times and always maintained a fun and close environment. Also, something I loved was knowing that by participating you are also supporting the community of Lomas de Ancón. It is not only an adventure activity, but a way to contribute to local development and responsible tourism. The views, the adrenaline rushing down the dunes and the atmosphere in general make it a highly recommended experience. I would definitely repeat and recommend it to anyone who visits Lima or even to those who live here and want to rediscover the surrounding area. A perfect getaway without going far!

Must Do Adventure Activity Near Lima!! (Safe for beginners) - I had the absolute best time sandboarding in the sand dunes!! One of the biggest highlights of my trip to Peru!! My guide, Annie, as well as the instructors were very patient and encouraging as I had never done something like this before. We progressively got to more difficult dunes and while it was scary at first, I was surprised at how well I was able to pick it up. I was picked up from my hotel at 7am and requested an airport drop off on the way back, getting there promptly at 1pm. They provided lots of water and fruits as a snack. Annie spoke excellent English and Luis was helpful in demonstrating and carrying everything back up the dunes. They also got some extremely cool videos and pictures of me. I cannot recommend enough!!!

Great Time on the Dunes - Aldo was very professional AND skilled. Had a great time getting out on the dunes with my friend. The whole crew that helped us was amazing as well, thank you to Luis and everyone else! Felt lucky to be able to go around sunset when it was not too hot as well!

We had the Dunes to ourselves! - This was one of the highlights of our 2.5 week trip all over Peru! I almost booked in Huacachina however it didn’t work out with our schedule and I am SO GLAD it didn’t! Not only did we have a private lesson and the gorgeous dunes of Ancon all to ourselves (which was incredible), but we ran into other travelers who said the Huacachina dunes were over crowded. This location was magical, close to Lima, and our instructor, Aldo, was fantastic. He was super patient with us, had a great sense of humor, and took so many amazing videos and photos (which was another amazing perk!). Our driver, Carlos, was also amazing and was super competent with how to navigate the dunes. Aldo has a lot of pride for his beautiful country and also does a lot for the youth in his community, which was great to hear about. An 11/10 experience all around.

The best way to engage with the desert landscape - We had half a day with Aldo and Eddie on the dunes north of Lima. The experience was just extraordinary. Aldo taught us (a family of four with two boys 13 and 10) how to sand board. We’ve never done any snowboarding or surfing or anything like this before, Aldo was very patient and you can tell he has a lot of experience working with kids. His passion for the sport is also contagious. The dunes were beautiful, especially during the hours near sunset. And we had it all to ourselves. When our SUV drove off the road into the dunes it really felt like an adventure. In the end we could somewhat make our way down the halfpipe, a large sand structure deep in the wilderness. Our flight into Lima was delayed and so our experience was cut short. We didn’t have time lunch and had to go straight to this activity after getting off our flight. Aldo got us sandwiches so that we could have energy. We really appreciated that.

Amazing. - Amazing guide and incredible experience. Picked me up at the airport and there was a couple along with myself that rode in the back row of the SUV. Gave great instructions. Be prepared to fall and get slightly injured. I was going too fast when I basically ate it and rolled over. Was sore for a few days but definitely worth it.

Fantastic - We had never sand nor snow boarded before. Aldo was a patient and professional teacher. We learnt a lot and had fun! Carlos sand dune driving was extraordinary but we felt safe!

No room for 1 more person - Was unable to complete excursion as the tour operator could not accommodate me! Excursion was arranged through Viator live agent but there was no availability day of activity. It was very late when I booked it and that was most likely the main factor Regards Doug Reef
