Upon arrival at Lima airport, a host will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer and hotel check-in. Enjoy a free afternoon exploring the lively neighborhoods of Peru’s capital.
CUSCO – CACHORA – CHIQUISCA
Cusco - Early in the morning, transportation will pick you up from your hotel, heading towards the Pampa de Anta before descending into the Limatambo valley. The journey continues to the town of San Pedro de Cachora, then on to Capuliyoc (2900 m). After capturing some memorable photos, a 4-hour descent begins to Chiquisca (1900 m), where the night will be spent camping.
CHIQUISCA – MARAMPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO
Choquequirao Inca Citadel - The day starts with a refreshing coca tea in bed, followed by breakfast. The trek begins with a zigzag ascent to the hamlet of Santa Rosa (2000 m) for a restful break. Good physical endurance is essential as the ascent continues to the Marampata hamlet (2900 m), where the night will be spent in a local resident’s home. Here, a break and lunch are enjoyed, offering a panoramic view of the Choquequirao Archaeological Complex.
PINCHAHUNUYOC – RIO BLANCO – MAIZAL
Choquequirao Inca Citadel - After breakfast, the day begins with a descent to the lowest point, Rio Blando. A well-deserved rest is taken here, with the option to enjoy a refreshing dip in the river’s cold, clear waters. The river is crossed on foot as there are no bridges. The journey continues with a long, steep climb to the camp in Maizal, situated above the river and closer to the sacred Apus of the Incas. This challenging climb takes approximately 3 hours, with camping at 3000 m. The route passes through numerous farming areas.
Day 5 – CORN FIELD – VICTORIA MINES – SAN JUAN PASS – YANAMA
YANAMA – HYDROELECTRIC – HOT WATERS
Machupicchu Cusco - The day begins with coca tea and breakfast, followed by a vehicle ride to the Hidroelectrica. Here, a final short walk begins along the railway, passing through lush vegetation with large trees, orchids, and bromeliads. With luck, a variety of birds, plants, insects, and coffee, banana, and avocado plants may be seen. The walk covers approximately 11 km over 3 hours to the town of Machu Picchu (2,070 m). Upon arrival, guests settle into their hotel and, if time allows, can enjoy the hot springs of Aguas Calientes (optional).
Day 7 – AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO
Machu Picchu - After breakfast, the day begins with a bus ride to Machu Picchu, where the breathtaking citadel awaits. Known as “old peak,” it is a masterpiece of Inca architecture, featuring squares, neighborhoods, houses, agricultural areas, roads, and observatories. Built on the slopes of the old mountain amidst semi-tropical vegetation, it was discovered on July 24, 1911, by American explorer Hiram Bingham. A 2-hour guided tour explores the most significant sites of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Afterwards, return to Aguas Calientes, then proceed to the train station for departure to Poroy and transfer to the hotel.
